In the interests of full disclosure, I didn't walk the whole thing - went about half way to Derby Reach - well past the golf course.
Difficult imagine oneself "close to nature" when on this route. For the first part (going west) there are numerous homes a on the land side. Beautiful homes, granted, but not trees or other natural ground cover. Then the golf course...
No washrooms on the 25 minute trek I took. On the positive side, the trail was a great walking surface, and wide enough to accommodate both bikes and walkers. Quite busy, but everyone polite, even cyclists.
But, in spite of these positives, the next time I want to walk through a forest, I'll stick to Burnaby's Central Park.

Very clean walk along the river. Great place to walk the dog. Lots of interesting houses to look at on one side. Very park like.

Great place for a hike, bike or take a stroll, good idea during the Covid-19! Distance of the trail follows along the river and roadway. Nice places to take a break and have a family outing!

I love, love, love this trail. I ran it dozens of times, including lunch hour when I'm at work. The trail itself is always well maintained and has great views of the south arm of the Fraser River, beautiful homes and even an old growth forest if you go up into Derby Park on the south side of Allard Cresent where you will be on the Houston Trail (there are parking lots and washrooms for the Houston Trail on both the south and North Side of the park).

Parking was the biggest hurdle and mostly pay parking. Once parked, we strolled by some quaint shops on the main street and started our walk, which is shared by dogs, bikes and runners. Being a sunny weekend lots of action and we finished with a stop for a coffee and treat.

I looked forward to the stroll described by many of the locals, but got on the wrong trail almost immediately, due to lack of signage. After checking the website, found this "trail" actually starts on a street - Mavis Avenue! So, don't do what I did; consult a good map BEFORE you go.

I have walked the FtF Trail many times - at times a portion of it, at times the whole stretch. It is an easy stroll for all ages and all fitness levels. Stay by the channel and watch the activity on the water; venture off into the Houston Trail and walk some light inclines; veer off into the village for a coffee or meal, or some window shopping. Many options!

We used to live by the Fraser River in Fort Langley where everyday my husband abd I would come home from work and unwind with a walk along the Fort to Fort Trail before dinner. We miss it a lot, so we continue to drive a short 15 minutes to get there whenever we want to leave all the business of the day behind us. It's beautiful and peaceful along the river, wooded trails and farmlands. It's 14 km round trip past Derby Reach Park but any shorter distance or brief stroll is just as enjoyable and relaxing. There are also numbers of really great coffee shops, restaurants and gift shops to satisfy any appetite or craving at the start of the trail in the lovely destination of Fort Langley.

Such a clean well maintained trail with beautiful serene scenery. It is a dog on leash trail and everyone we saw followed this rule.
The trail follows the curve of the Fraser River where there were very few boats, none with loud engines.
I do recommend bug repellent as there are mosquitos, which is to be expected given the proximity of the river. Enjoy!

Visited family again in Langley. We love this walk into Fort Langley. Bits to read on the way, nice viewing points too. Takes about 25/30 mins from beg to end
