I came here earlier in the morning to see the glassy surface of the lake, but have to admit it was less than impressive compared to other astounding beautiful lakes in the Canadian Rockies, like Peyto, Moraine, Lake Louise, Emerald Lake in Yoho NP, even...More

I'm a little loathe to post a review on Herbert Lake, as I'm afraid of publicizing this hidden gem further. It is an astonishingly beautiful little lake just five minutes drive north of the town of Lake Louise. You'll likely zoom past it, but if...More

There is so, so much more to see down the road that I wouldn't spend much time here unless you had oodles of time. It is pretty and I would love to be there at sunrise and quietly look and listen for wildlife. But, if...More

Arrived here early morning with mist coming off the lake, which was like glass, and not a soul about. It was stunning!

We went to Herbert Lake three times during our two weeks in the Canadian Rockies. Early in the morning, mid-day and sunset - and got three completely different sets of photos. This is a lovely spot - if you're lucky, the lake will be still...More

Easy to get to and a recommended stop but there are more impressive places and views on the Icefields Highway.

This lake is just next to the Highway. It is nice, but certainly not a real highlight. We stopped, took a few pictures and that was it.

The beauty of the lake is in the timing of your visit. The key tips to just amazing lake scenery if getting there on a relatively clear morning on a calm wind day. The morning sun will create great lake reflection views for you. We...More
