We lived for ten years in Alberta and went hiking every second weekend in the Rockies. The Icefield Parkway provides easy access to the most dramatic mountains and gorgeous glaciers, all from the luxury of your car. There are lots of pull-offs and viewpoints. But...More

This drive is not to be missed. We went the day after a giant snowstorm, so it was no wonder the road past Saskatchewan Crossing was closed. We were disappointed, as we really wanted to make it to the glacier, but the drive was so...More

We headed out to do this drive very early in the morning so we could see things without crowds. We stopped at Herbert lake (which was stunning), crow foot glacier, bow summit/peyto lake, Mistaya canyon, Saskatchewan river crossing and the Athabaskan glacier. The drive itself...More

Stunning scenery with a highlight being a trip up onto the Athabasca glacier on board the million dollar ice explorer vehicles. These vehicles take you right up onto the glacier where you can wander around for the 15 minutes or so that you are there....More

The Icefields Parkway takes you past so many glaciers that I lost count. The view at every turn is stunning and a must see for anyone at any age.

On many parts it is breath taking. We went from Lake Louise to Jasper this afternoon and we were just so awestruck with the grandeur of these mountains and glaciers. Not to be missed.

Heading from lake Louise back to Edmonton we took the scenic route and it was well worth it. The sun was coming over the mountains illuminating the peaks and trees as you wind your way through the pass. So many great vistas and views so...More
