    Tres Palapas did not disappoint!
Tres Palapas did not disappoint. Excellent courts, friendly staff, lots of classes, lessons, open play & tournaments at all levels. Great food & drinks. Happy hour play with 2 for 1 margaritas. Friday evening dinner with live music! Lots to do for all. We had a great time and we will definitely be back!

    A Great Pickleball Experience!
When it comes to vacations, we all have opinions of what makes us happy and what constitutes a successful one. Tres Palalpas did both for me. It provided a comfortable safe space for overnight accommodations as well as a learning opportunity for improving my pickleball skills while still having fun. The Tres Palapas “formula" is close to perfect! Friendly clean resort + pristine courts + friendly *expert* teachers able to handle small groups or 1on1 coaching = pure bliss! The team is working through consistencies on food, smoothies and bar offerings. When those items are sorted out - wow, they’ll be unstoppable. 👏🏻 Going forward, as local competitor offerings heat up, I think they’ll have a hard time matching the magic the teams provide to their guests. If I was asked to envision what “Heaven” looked like, when the pearly gates parted, I think we’d see Tres Palapas. 😇 A very special thanks to Froy, Isabel, Jessica, Brandon, Mindy, Joe, Cuca & Alex for their great customer service, friendliness and expertise! 🤗

    Fun and Accomodating
Such a fun week at Tres Palapas! The perfect size to have plenty of play opportunities, while maintaining a boutique vs corporate atmosphere. Recent management change means a few kinks still to work out, but such a warm, receptive, and accommodating crew! They are dedicated to making the place great and guests feel welcomed and happy. Loved it!

Excellent pickleball facility. We had a fun day here. $10 USD per person, plus $2 USD per person for paddles (they're good ones) if you don't take your own. I think there were 8 courts. We went on a pretty windy day and the walls helped a little. Super fun! Food looked really good, but we didn't eat there. Now I wish we had--I keep thinking about the Acai bowl I missed out on, haha!

Nice courts, close to town, reasonable restaurant prices. $10 to play is a bit high but you are on vacation. Competition is good ranging from 3.0 to 4.5. Staff was good but management needs work.

First visit to Baja and Tres Palapas! Competed in Baja Classic tournament in ladies doubles 3.5. Visiting from Canada. Thought the pickleball center was fantastic! Great professional venue, cafe, bar. The tournament was organized, well run. We felt very welcomed! Went to the drop in hours ( happy hour pickleball) no shortage of people to play with!
Great margaritas! Souvenir shop on site, would have bought a souvenir towel if they had one, hint, hint! After the tournament I lost my money, it fell out of my pocket as I sat on the bar stool. The female bartender tracked me down in the complex to return my money as she remembered me sitting there! Center is very close to Los Barriles townsite, very authentic small town vibe with some great restaurants.

Came here for pickleball and happy hour with a group of friends. The bartender poured weak margaritas then tried to charge double, someone tried to take one of our pickleball paddles. Another time a group of people sat at our table while we played pickleball nearby and started drinking our drinks. Not going back!

Tres Palapas is a really beautiful facility. We had great food there and, as the title says, the best margarita in this town during our visit. Our only reservation is that we didn’t find the club very welcoming. While we aren’t pros, we aren’t novices either and no one asked us to play or tried to make us feel welcome to be on the courts with them. We would’ve really appreciated a greeting or smile, but an invitation to a game would’ve really made us love this place.

A group of us came down from California for some fun, sun and pickle ball. Upon arriving at the facility notice everything was spotless, landscape was beautiful and staff was superb!!! Breakfast , lunch and dinner served along with bar at the courts and coffee and smoothie joint as well . Iced mocha and a fresh brownie was my highlight 😏.
Again , all the staff were wonderful . Very friendly and accommodating . While there is no where to stay at this resort , only a 5 or 10 minute drive or a 45 minute walk from the quaint town of Las Barriles. If you like pickle ball and good food make a trip to Tres Palapas

Paul and Sally have created an oasis in Los Barriles... a gathering place for pickle ballers but also just a great place for a healthy meal, great drink or just to meet up with friends. The Frida Bar has the most wonderful atmosphere and views! Walk around and discover the peaceful nooks and crannies. Oh yeah, play a game of pickle ball while you're there. Great courts and facility with always someone to join you for a game!

If you enjoy pickleball or even want to learn, Tres Palapas Pickleball Resort in Los Barriles, Mexico is a perfect place to do it!

My three friends and I play pickleball and we just returned on March 4 from an incredible week at Tres Palapas. This was our first time and we had such a blast that before we had left to come home we were already planning a return trip in June!

We chose Tres Palapas because we were looking for a winter getaway to a place where we could play as much pickleball as we wanted in a scenic location and enjoy the Mexican culture. Tres Palapas far exceeded our expectations.

We booked our trip last November via pickleballgetaways.net. It's a packaged option that included unlimited access to playing at Tres Palapas, lessons with the pros/instructors, lodging at hotel in town, shuttle service, and meals at the resort. You can also plan a trip to Tres Palapas on your own with plenty of options for lodging, transportation, etc.

The staff at Tres Palapas are incredibly nice and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Immediately upon our arrival we were greeted by Paul Bland, one of the owners, who gave us a tour of the facilities, introduced us to staff, and answered our questions. Afterward we were on the courts, meeting other players and having a blast. Our first dinner that night was at the resort restaurant and the food was great.

Tres Palapas has 10 beautiful courts. The resort also has a cafe (coffee, smoothies, etc.), restaurant, roof top bar, salsa dancing, and studios for yoga/Tai Chi. The layout of the resort makes it easy to play but also just to hang out and have a great time. The resort also owns adjacent lots for expansion. There's no lodging on the premises but there are several nice hotels as well as rentals available depending on your preferences.

Tres Palapas caters to all skill levels ranging from beginners to advanced players. The week we were there, Tyson McGuffin, the world #1 singles player showed up for an exhibition, Q&A, lessons, etc. Tres Palapas offers daily beginner classes as well as private and group lessons with instructors/pros. The resort opens at 8AM and there was never a shortage of games and match play. Every day from 3PM-6PM is Be Happy Pickleball which is sort of social mixer combined with happy hour. One morning we showed up for a 10-person round-robin mixer tournament that ran 90 minutes and was a blast. We met so many people from a variety of backgrounds but the one constant was that everyone was very nice and fun to play with.

Tres Palapas is located in Los Barriles, a small coastal town less than 2 hours between Cabo and La Paz. Los Barriles is laid back and relaxing so you won't find the craziness in the larger tourist areas. But there's still plenty of things to do including fishing, hiking, ATV rides, snorkeling, diving, and various nightlife activities. With roughly half the population being expats from North America you don't need to speak Spanish to get around town. However, Los Barriles is cash heavy so you won't find many places aside from the hotels that take credit cards. We found both the peso and US dollar were accepted. If you find yourself there on a Saturday, make sure you hit the town market between 9AM-12PM for great local food and crafts.

My friends and rented a car for the week which made it very easy to get around town and to/from Tres Palapas. The most common mode of transportation is the ATV and rentals are easily available. With one road through town it's pretty much impossible to get lost. Food was amazing and there was never a shortage of places to eat. Because we showed up every morning at Tres Palapas we ate our breakfasts and lunches there. Their food is phenomenal and I was quickly hooked on the smoothies that Emanuel makes in the cafe (one day I had six of them before 2PM). Emanuel also makes incredible coffee and make sure you take home some of his salsa! The restaurant is also great so between that and Emanuel's cafe we were very well fed.

Can't say enough about the Tres Palapas staff. They made us feel welcome from the start. We didn't come with a plan for the week but by the second night we had our entire schedule planned out from pickleball to meals, activities, etc.

If you're looking to improve your game, definitely take lessons from one of the coaches/instructors. The four of us learned so much from Tony and Emanuel during our series of one hour lessons with them. They're patient, knowledgeable, extremely skilled and can explain concepts in a way that's easy to understand. We saw immediate improvement in our game play and even pulled off some great wins against more advanced players during the week.

We had such a great time that we're planning another trip in June. The temps will be warmer so there will be plans to spend some time in the water but it's the great pickleball and the people of Tres Palapas that has us counting the days!

If you're a Pickleball player and in the lower Baja, spending some time are Tres Palapas is a must. With 10 beautiful new courts, a restaurant and bars, a good day is guaranteed. I played drop-in 2 days, with plenty of good players to play with and against. Bring US$ cash - unfortunately (like many places in Baja), Tres Palapas pro shop uses US$ and charges a premium exchange rate if you want to pay in pesos.

How can I be so average at a game and still be totally addicted to it? Pickleball is the game and Tres is the ideal place to watch, learn and play. Watching players is easy from covered tables while eating a great breakfast or lunch. Learning has never been easier with instructors like Kevin, Joel or Aldo; and playing is the "proof of the pudding." It's fun and competitive, regardless of outcome, all at the same time. I was the ultimate cynic and came around with a vengeance! Do yourself a favor, try it at one of the great, well-maintained 10 courts. If you want more experience and love the competition sign up for one of the tournaments. You'll be surprised at the fun you'll have. My wife and I are now planning a "pickleball vacation," playing at different sites in the US. This should be your first place to play.
