Very rich sea life, corals, including turtles. Good there are several areas closed to protect and regrow the reef (after hurricane). The beach facilities should be improved to create a quality experience for snorklers. If you dive from boat you will have a perfect time guaranteed!

My 3 sons got certified junior open water with Dumaguete Divers (highly recommend them, Matt was awesome!!), we did 3 dives. I can’t remember all the dive sights but the 2nd one was Chapel dive sight. We saw beautiful big turtles, trigger fish, razor fish, snakes and much more. The visibility was amazing maybe 15-20m and the water was warm.
Last dive was a drift dive and the visibility wasn’t so good, but the highlight of this drift dive was seeing a school of jack fish.. oh my.. it was amazing!! Must go and see that!
Overall lovely island from what we saw from the dive boat.
Definitely need to dive at Apo!! You won’t regret it.

Chapel:
This is a good dive, lots of corals. Large sea turtles are present. We saw a baby sweetlips.

Rock Point West:
This is a relaxing dive. We were able to catch another turtle, a baby one this time. I saw my first underwater snake on the ocean floor and it was huge, probably one meter or more. Then I saw a baby one at the surface and quickly avoided it as they have deadly venom and there is no anti venom...! We saw a stonefish (another deadly fish).

Cogon:
This is a drift dive. It has a strong, fast moving current and you only have one chance for a photo! Swimming across this current was exhausting. I did shockingly catch another stone fish by pure luck... Though what was the true eye catcher was a huge school of Jack’s that I floated right through.

If planning a dive trip, make sure to include Apo Island to your itinerary and you won't regret. It was a full day trip for us from 8.30am until 4pm - 3 dives/ snorkels and lunch. The coral wall was astoundingly pretty, corals are very healthy and of every colour imaginable. We saw turtles, banded snake and lots of small fish. Also the spot where bubbles rise from sandy bottom was surreal, so gorgeous! Water was beautiful azure and turquoise in parts.

Had the chance to visit Apo island with my family. Reached the island in the morning, had short briefing with the tour guide regarding the do’s and don’ts while snorkeling. While in the water, a small turtle swam passed us and we were really surprised that some more of them are just around the area. While on the further side a bigger size of turtle captured my interest. All in all I love Apo island and the people are very friendly. Lots of restaurants for snacks or lunch after diving or snorkeling. Visit the place and enjoy watching the turtles

I love snorkeling to see the "maamong" turtles! It was a great experience! The guide is very accomodating. Make sure to bring your own snorkel for sanitary purposes.
