Sorry I have to give this a POOR rating - you need to check to see the most recent status - it was closed due to earthquake damage, Sept 2017. Serious scaffolding and pile driving when we were there April 2018.

Recently renovated, this is truly a wonderful museum that celebrates Mexican culture and heritage. Housed in a recently restored house, the displays are well illuminated and explained in both Spanish and English. Although Mexican culture is so vast, this museum gives you a small taste...More

A quick visit to this very well preserved house will give you a sense of how the high class of Puebla used to live. Very special pieces in each room including the kitchen, clothes and a very special oratory room.

So impressive, a house built by love, that simulates the appearance of candy sweets (alfenique) in the city of Puebla

It's outstanding. The abundance of decoration is wonderful and it's amazing it has lasted so long. I'm not sure if it's original or if it's restored, but either way it's definitely worth seeing.

this museum is in front of the souvernir market -el parian-. a 30 minutes visit is enough to see what it used to be a house. the best: the façade.

The building itself is beautiful but the collection was only ok for us. If you are really interested, visit, but otherwise I would take a look from the outside.

This building is a notable example of the "sugarcake" style. Don't stop here. Notice the adjoining building with six-pointed star decoration; was this a Jewish quarter? Stroll along Av. 8 Oriente for additional examples of lively tiled exteriors.
