“Fabulous church, competing in beauty with Cathedral”
This large church, which hovers over the Plaza de Santo Domingo, is known for its dark, melancholy appearance.

The church is built in a more sober Baroque style and has some fine details inside. In front is the lovely and lively Plaza Domingo.

You have to plan your visit to the church very carefully because it is open only for the morning mass and at about 5.30pm. It was well worthwhile the wait as the church´s interior is equally impressive.

This church is beautiful at night and during the day. At night you can take a picture of it with downtown and the Bufa in the background.

The church is beautiful from the outside. The pink stone really added to the charm. Sadly we did not see the inside as it was closed when we arrived.

This is a beautiful churcch, decorated with stained glass windows and paintings. Although the Cathedral of Zacatecas is extremly beautiful on the outside, the Santo Domingo is much, much more beautiful in the inside.

Attended a beautiful Mass and soaked in centuries of spirituality. Don't miss this holy place, regardless of your faith.

The church recently underwent a major restoration project. It's a fine example of the architecture and adornments in Spanish Colonial churches of the period, especially is areas where Spanish colonists found gold and silver.

Historical church and a nice plaza adjacent to it! The Church is good for a nice stroll, particularly around its adjacent plaza which is very aesthetic!

While the cathedral is impressive, this church is magnificent with its pink facade and wonderful interior.

How can a building be melancholy??? This large and in my opinion slightly shabby looking church is on Plazuela Santo Domingo. Inside it has some not so shabby altars. Built by the Jesuits, it was taken over by the Dominicans when the Jesuits were expelled...More
