Lovely little church

It was a nice, historic church to visit with a little information memorial on the way in. Nice location beside the main square.

This is a simple church in the town center. There is very little ornamentation inside. Why visit? This was the first church in the area and represents the history of the people.

This small church was open Thursday evening during the art walk. It was a pleasant place to come in and commune with something bigger than myself. That said, the church iitself, while pleasant, is not very interesting from an historical or archaeological perspective

I am not a catholic but its a nice looking church to look at, located right in the middle of town, like most Catholic churches.

This is a very simple little parish church. Beautiful services on Sundays and religious holidays. It is obviously the symbolic center the town.

while on tour with our guide we visited the church, which was near the plaza. The church had historic information about the mission. Interesting.

The Mision church across from the main square in San Jose del Cabo is an excellent example of mission churches. The stations along the sides are small and the altar area is compact. A mural over the front entrance shows three natives hauling away a Priest in reference to reaction to the Priests attempting to convert the natives to Christianity.

This was such an interesting visit and a history lesson. The church was beautiful and well worth the visit. I would like to attend mass there the next time I go to San Jose.

Tons of history in this 200+ year old church found at the center of the square in the historic district of San Jose. This old church is rumoured to have underground tunnels to the estuary for escape and entry. Artwork and stained glass does not disappoint. At Easter, there is a mass held in the square outside of the steps... More

This church was built in the 18th Century. It was a failed mission. It is attractive on the exterior, but very plain and uninteresting on the inside. The only reason to visit is to pray.
