To be honest we expected more. The gazebo was pretty, though likely more so at night. The square didn't make a great impression on us. There were a few vendors and shops around the square and on the side streets. We walked the area for a few minutes and then left.

Spent a couple of hours during the day visiting the town and picked up some souvenirs (hand made Mexican soap (called Baja Sol) - a little expensive at $8 (U.S.) but nice to bring back for some special friends. Also, enjoyed visiting the missionary church and had a nice authentic Mexican lunch facing the square (only Mexicans seemed to be... More

We went into San Jose to have a look at the old town. It's really charming and the people are lovely. This part of Mexico are Aztecs versus say Cancun which is Mayan. In town there are lots silver shops many of which we frequented. The shops expect you to bargain as many start with a price that is completely... More

The main square at San Jose Del Cabo is very quiet. It is large and has shops boarding its edges that sell souvenirs and food. The center of the square is pretty much empty except maybe a lone man selling balloons or in the evenings some local artists may set up in one corner selling their paintings.

Went up twice in the day and at night. Much busier at night especially on Tuesday night when they have an art seller's display. Large with restaurants and shop all around. Clean and safe.

A lovely part of town to sit and watch the world go by. Lots of interesting events regularly. Sit and relax there after the Arts Walk.

As with most Mexican Plazas or Zocalos there is a lot of action and activity around this center of town. Thursday's Art Walk just adds to the vibe with many galleries to visit. The Frank Arnold gallery is spectacular not only for the artwork, but also for strolling through the modern house and courtyards. By 6-6:30 music begins all around... More
