This is a really great beach for playing in sand and swimming. The water is fairly calm and warm so it makes for good swimming. There are also some rocks that provide good exploring. The beach area was really damaged a couple years ago by...More

Conditions are variable here. We knew that going in. The overall beach itself was great, though there was some construction, it was only a minor delay going in. Lifeguards on duty, facilities, and sandy beach made for a nice start. But the snorkeling (the reason...More

Palmilla Beach is one of the few swimming beaches in the area. The water is calm and warm. When we were there in November the water was 85. It's enjoyable--on a week end, you can expect to see a mix of tourists and local families...More

Our children wanted to go to a swimmable beach while in San Jose del Cabo. Everyone recommended Playa Palmilla. Very nice. There were even umbrellas and all water sport items for rent!

Although this is a swimmable beach it has a bit of an undertow close to shore. It also gets deep quick. My kids enjoyed it but if not a strong swimmer I recommend having a strong swimmer in between kids and the deep water. There...More

Nice beach that is more swim-able than the beach on our resort property. Undercurrent/undertow is manageable. Bring goggles or snorkeling gear as there are some nice rocks, corals and fish to be seen.

There are lots of palapas for use if you need to get out of the sun, the sand is soft and the snorkeling is pretty good off to the right by the rocks. Easy swimming beach for the kids too, not too rough.

No, but there fishermen and vendors renting chairs/umbrellas so it's not like it's a deserted beach and if you got into trouble there would be no one to yell to but there was no formal lifeguards that I recall.
