Atotonilco is a hidden teasure short ride from San Miguel de Allende, and it is totally worth it; they call it "Mexico's Sistine Chapel", and even though it is a little far fetched it is a work of art and has a high historic value....More

The santuario is beautiful. The frescos are amazing, a bit dark, picturing death and flogging but very interesting.

Worth the 20 minute drive from MSA; allow an hour to take in this beautiful church and modest exterior. Truly unique. Lovely place to visit; memorable church.

A lovely small historic church that has been restored. Actually I sort of preferred it before the complete restoration. There are various street vendors outside selling all sorts of souvenirs.
