In a historically important locale this volunteer organization has put together a compelling and intriguing 2.5 hour tour. Our volunteer docent was as knowledgeable and responsive to dialogue as excellent, well-paid professional guides for Mexico City tours. All proceeds go to Patronato Pro Ninos to...More
i would recommend this tour as an intro to San Miguel and to do early in your trip. We did the 945am tour. Upon arrival they split us up into smaller groups (approx 7 per guide) which allowed for a more intimate tour and being...More
What a wonderful way to get an overview of San Miguel de Allende. We took the tour with Diane and enjoyed every minute! We enjoyed the history, art, and ease of the tour. Walk, sit, listen, look, enjoy! We've gone back twice to visit shows...More
The walking tour was wonderful. We learned so much about the area, history, politics, churches, etc. We actually went a second time since there was so much to learn. It provided a great overview. I would recommend doing this early in your visit. In addition...More
The cause this supports is very good, the walk is very pleasant, the town is charming, so that is all a win. The tour guide explained all early on that the indigenous peoples were "savages", actually used that word. In the main church he pointed...More

First, thank you for your comments about the cause we support and how pleasant the tour is. We were saddened, however, to learn of the description of the indigenous people that you noted. You make a good point, the indigenous people - who make up...More
Natalie was friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We had stimulating discussions and a delightful walk in the precious town. Even without its UNESCO World Heritage Site designation San Miguel is so worth a visit and this tour should be taken on early in your stay.
Fun and informative. Saul was our guide and he was fun and knowledgeable. Gave quite the insight into SMA. They ask for a 300 peso donation that goes to a worthy charity , helping children. Would definitely recommend this tour.
This is a two to three hour historical walking tour of central SMA. It is organized and run by Patronato Pro Ninos which is a charitable organization of ex-pats living in the area. The proceeds from the tour provide dental and medical aid to poor...More

Hi! I'm one of the 20 volunteer guides. We have a tour on Friday, March 10th. The tour starts at 10:00 but we ask that you come at 9:45 or earlier to give us time to collect the fees and divide the participants into three or four smaller groups. The current fee is 200 pesos. No reservation required. We meet in the main square (the Jardin) in front of the Parroquia church. Tripadvisor doesn't allow me to post the website link, so google Patronato Pro Ninos. Scroll down to Calendar of Events and click on Walking Tours.
