Helene could not have been more perfect. She tailored our tour to our interests. She was so knowledgeable about the history of San Miguel, the church history and the architecture. She also told us great places to eat and to shop and followed up with us to make sure we didn’t need anything else.
You will love her…we sure did!

We were so pleased with our tour of San Miguel d'Allende with Helene! We had a very brief stay here, but Helene filled us up with such a great sense of the city. Her knowledge of the history along with her lived experience in SMA made for a great overview of this lovely town. It was such a pleasure to explore with her. Highly recommend!

We had a great tour day with Helene, going to Guanajuato for a walking tour, driving into the Santa Rosa mountains, lunch at a lovely local spot with panoramic views, and a tour of Dolores Hidalgo. Helene has excellent knowledge of local history, arts and architecture, shopping and dining. I recommend a tour with Helene from SMA to see more of the Mexico and it’s history .. Planning on adding her tour to Queretaro on our next visit. Thanks again for a wonderful day . 👍👍

I am shamefully, ridiculously slow in posting this review - but my husband and I enjoyed a fabulous day with Helene on our honeymoon in late 2018. (I had to choose March 2021, which is not true, from the When Did You Go menu here - that's how ridiculously long I've waited on this.) She picked us up in SMA, in her very comfortable SUV, and we went to Atotonilco and Dolores Hidalgo. We visited multiple places, including the Santuario de Atotonilco, the Parroquia de Nuesta Senora de los Dolores, and some wonderful ceramics artisans and a candle factory, and we had a super-delicious and fun lunch. We also tried some of the unusual ice cream flavors in Dolores Hidalgo and can now say we've eaten chicharron ice cream.

Helene was so friendly, warm, chill, and knowledgeable, and it was like touring around with an old friend. She planned a great day for us, and we'd recommend her tours to anyone and everyone. Communication while we were making arrangements was all A++, too.

Thank you, Helene!

We were so lucky to have found Helene for our first trip to San Miguel. We spent a half day with Helene on a walking tour in downtown San Miguel and the next day on a full day tour to Guanajuato and Dolores Hildalgo. Helene was extremely knowledgable and personable and we felt like old friends after spending a day and a half with her. Her knowledge of history, culture, nature, etc made for an extremely enjoyable and educational visit. We would highly recommend her!!!

My husband and I just got home from our first trip to San Miguel. We were there for a week, and took Helene's morning walking tour of SMA early in our stay. As other reviewers have noted, Helene is extremely knowledgeable and shares so much information, but it never feels like a lecture. She is very much a "people person," and we had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing orientation to the city. We liked it so much that we booked a full day tour to Guanajuato, with stops at Santa Rosa for lunch and pottery shopping, a drive through Dolores Hidalgo as we were running short of time, and wanted to get to Atotonilco before it got dark. BTW, there was never any pressure to buy anything on the tour, though we splurged $20 on a beautifully hand-painted plate. Travel was in Helene's Chevy Suburban, which was very comfortable and put us high enough to get good views as we were driving. As it turned out, Helene had already booked another couple for the same day, but she was careful to check with both couples that it was OK to amalgamate the two groups. We had a wonderful time and would definitely take another tour with Helene the next time we visit.

My wife and I were visiting San Miguel de Allende for a week during our two-week vacation in Mexico. We were interested in visiting Guanajuato and Atotonilco and after reading Helene's reviews, we chose to reach out to her.

Helene was very prompt in replying, and went out of her way to provide additional information (even going as far as calling ahead to some places in Léon for my wife that she was interested in visiting)!

The tour itself was informative and fun. Helene has an ease about her which made her feel like a knowledgable 'travel buddy' rather than a standard tour guide who simply rhymes off general facts. This, along with her having lived in the area for close to 30 years made us feel more comfortable asking questions and getting answers more in-depth than we might have expected from another guide.

We found many hidden gems along the way on Helene's recommendations, including many unique shops and markets which my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed.

Helene was a lovely guide. She was very knowledgeable of both these destinations and San Miguel, and was very accomnodating. Overall, she comes very highly recommended from us.

Don't hesitate to book your next tour with Helene!

We spend the most wonderful day with Helene touring Sancturario Atotnilco and Delores Hidago. Helene is so interesting and knows all the secret places to visit. Her knowledge of the places we visited is excellent and we learned so much about the history of Sancturario Atotnilco and Delores Hidago. Delores Hidago is where the Mexican Resolution started and we found that to be most interesting. I am a potter so I really enjoyed visiting all of the wonder pottery workshops and galleries that Helene took us to. All in all it was a highlight of our trip to SMA. I would go with Helene any time!!

My husband and two friends enjoyed a full day trip with Helene to the old mining town of Pozos and surrounding areas. As a photographer, this trip was a real treat for him. Helene was enthusiastic, knowledgable - an all around fun tour guide!
