What a beautiful hike with an interesting history. A stroll along this ancient path next to the river is the perfect way to digest all of the great food from the basque country.

After nice lunch at Itxassou, we did small walk to Pas de Roland. The road is narrow but so romantic and quiet along the river.

We found this place by accident -- or rather followed the signs. I am glad we did though I am still scratching my head to work out why it is called the 'Pace' of Roland. It is tremendous site -- the river has carved a...More

Very scenic and peaceful. Great for outdoor pursuits enthusiasts. The weather is changeable - when it's hot, it's very hot and when it rains, it's like being in Scotland.
