Nice medium-sized museum exhibiting D-Day history. Exhibitions contains a plane, some German artifacts and also a live video. Visited in 9/2012

One of the great 'stories' from D-day comes in the form of the Merville battery assault. The position could fire on Sword beach, so the job was given the the British Airborne to ensure this didn't happen. Only a fraction (150) of 750 men trained...More

A fascinating complex of artillery bunkers telling he story of both the life of the garrison before the attack and the daring assault itself. If ever a battle in Normandy cried out to be made into a film then this is it. The video about...More

I visited here after going to Pegasus Bridge and must say I was really impressed with it. Follow the trail given to you and make sure you read all the posts.

Only the British would attack such a place with only a handful of the men and materiel that were supposed to rendezvous for the mission. The courage, bravery and foolhardiness(?) to do so stands testament to the UK contribution to the Liberation of Europe.

For my taste a bit too much geared in the direction of a youth theme park. If it contributes to educating the young about the horrors of war it serves a worthwhile purpose. On the other hand it gives an impression of the expansive nature of...More

This is a superb WW2 relic and has so much history associated with the D-Day landings. Part of the Atlantic Wall. So well restored and excellent details. Just loved the audio/visual show. It must not be overlooked or passed by.

Our first stop among two days of Normandy D-Day sites, and we stayed longer than we'd planned because it was so interesting. Very small, uncrowded site has been invested in to make it interactive. The friendly woman in the small gift shop couldn't speak English,...More
