We enjoyed this cenote as it was cool you could jump into the hole, which was unlike any other cenotes we went to. Was also a great place to sit and watch other people jumping etc. Was mostly backpacker types there, I wouldn't recommend for...More

The highlight of temple of doom is the Halocline effect. Salt water meet fresh water,.. you get to see a surface like ( a line between salt and fresh water) under the water.. in some parts the water will be blurry (due to the Halocline)...More

If you're a diver with few cenotes logged then you have to do Calavera. Diving through a halocline is an unforgettable sensation. The water is blurry when mixed or when settled you see the distinct boundary between layers. Meanwhile you feel the buoyancy and temperature...More

Of the four cenotes i dived in while in Tulum, this is my favourite! Not worth for swimmers though..

Temple of Doom was the last cennote we cavern dove in. It's set about 100 meters (yards) back in a jungle, there is a path that has gravel. The first part of it has some bigger rocks and when you get to the cennote it...More

This place needs to be better maintained. Fix your diving board buddy, it cuts your feet. Not too hard to put a new piece of wood up.

We went there by bike from tulum city about 15 min. It is in my opinion nothing official. It is a private property. Scuba divers come here to see the beautiful underwater world and many caves. We talked to several people and it is highly...More

I think this place is also know as Cenote Calavera. It is near Grand Cenote, on the way to Coba. I went here as part of a tour, but you don't have to be with a tour. Unless you are a Scuba diver, this place...More

Liked this cenote scuba experience better than Car Wash; would liked to have hung out for swimming here, too. Super-fun jump into the water (~2-3 meters) while fully loaded with scuba tanks! If you have a bat hangup, this place is not for you.
