My parents and I decided on Flavio for our tour to Chichen Itza on our first visit to Mexico. Flavio is a one man business, and his wife Carol is the contact who organizes the trips. Carol is very responsive by email and text/call. We went with Flavio on May 19th, 2022 (the same day that I am writing this review). The day started off around 6 AM when Flavio came to pick us up at our hotel. I was told that our group could have up to 2-4 more people (so a total of 5-7), but on this day it was just my parents and me. In his car, he had tons of drinks and snacks, which is always a nice added touch. First, we drove to the town of Valladolid where Flavio explained the history of how Mexicans came to be. He bought us coffee and also bought us a mamey fruit, something we had never heard of before. In case you are interested, it looks like a mix of papaya and avocado, and tastes mildly sweet like a sweet potato! We then went to a cenote where Flavio was our personal tour guide and photographer. He is very experienced as a tour guide and very obviously loves his job. He seems to know all the people he interacts with! The cenote was beautiful and refreshing, and Flavio does a great job explaining it. Afterward, we ate AYCE buffet of Mexican food and Flavio showed us his salsa dance moves. We then drove to Chichen Itza, where Enrique was our tour guide and again, Flavio was our personal photographer. We spent a good few hours here and throughout the entire day never felt rushed. We arrived back to the hotel around 7 PM. When I was looking for tours to Chichen Itza (as we did not want to drive/plan the trip ourselves), I was between a big tour bus group and Flavio. I decided on going with Flavio due to his good reviews and he did not disappoint! You will not be disappointed with Flavio, as the tour is personalized to your small group and you do not feel rushed at any point in the day. Unlike an experience with the big tour buses, you are never pressured into buying anything you don't want, nor will you be rushed from location to location (as I read in other reviews). Flavio will personalize your trip and make your experience in Mexico great! At the end of the day, Flavio gave us the photos and videos he took of us (we brought our own USB drive). His attention to detail on this trip could not be emphasized more, from his punctuality to his personality (Case in point: we even saw a dog on the highway when we made a restroom stop, and Flavio proceeded to feed the dog the snacks he brought- a testament to his caring personality!). I highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for a more personalized experience to one of the new 7 wonders of the world. He also does other tours to other places in Mexico, including snorkeling. When I return to Mexico again, I will be sure have Flavio take me on more of his tours. Thank you again to Flavio and his wife Carol!

Flávio was right on time for the hotel pick up and we were soon on the ferry over to Cozumel for what was a fantastic day We had a quick coffee break on arrive and then a short distance down the coast, away from the bustling port, to a quiet location to pick up the boat. We had a large boat all too ourselves! The crew were great and made sure that we had all the equipment we needed to feel safe in the water Flávio had already starting to take the photos and videos on his camera and used two GoPro’s for the underwater shots . The snorkelling at the first site was amazing we were surrounded by loads of beautiful fish and were able to clearly see the amazing coral I must admit I felt privileged to be with Flávio when I saw all the other boats with 15+ people on. We were so safe with Flávio and a crew member with us that I was able to free dive to take pictures myself staying well away from coral of course The star fish at the next snorkelling spot were incredible, no one knows quite why this area has so many large types of this creature, but were able to take our time and enjoy seeing them without being surrounded by lots of other snorkelers. The crew made sure we were well looked after with snacks and drinks The third site was excellent with sun breaking through to illuminate this vast area. We were so lucky to be travelling Flávio tour and we enjoy the calm and clear seas and brilliant sunshine . After the last snorkel we went back to port and a short taxi ride to the Money Bar for lunch which was all included in the price of the day and was just lovely Great food and view When you go on a Flávio tour everything is included in the price so you can just relax and enjoy your day. . We had a short time before getting ferry back where enjoyed half an hour in Playa del Carmen main square near the beach just watching the local entertainment and listening to the music. Flávio, downloads the photos and video he has taken to a your memory stick so you can relax and not worry about taking your own, unless you want to of course, So if you want a unique day(s) out with an amazing guide then contact Carol at Flávio’s tours, she will answer all your questions quickly and do her utmost to make sure your tour is special for you . Our memories of this fantastic day will stay with us forever - thank you Flávio and Carol

We went on a day trip to Chichen Itza, Oxman cenote and Valladolid with Flavio at the end of April and had an overall fantastic experience with wonderful memories. We were expecting a small group tour but ended up being the only two people, which allowed us to do as we pleased and Flavio was happy to spend as long or as little as we liked at each place. Positives: - Carol was very efficient and easy to deal with in booking the trip, and her information was bang on. - We were picked up on time at 6am from our hotel. - Cold drinks and snacks were available throughout the trip, including fresh mangos and breakast bar type things at the entrance to Chichen Itza as we were told we could not take food inside. - Our Chichen Itza tour guide Enrique was very knowledgeable, we learned a lot, saw everything and experienced some little extra quirks - The cenote Flavio took us to was beautiful and we really enjoyed swimming and jumping from the rope - Flavio was friendly, funny and happy to answer all of our questions throughout the day - We were always just ahead of the big group tours and noticed every stop to be much busier as we were leaving. The earlier timing also helped with the heat! - We liked the food for lunch and the little show was amusing, but it did get a little busy and "sea of filming phones" as more tour groups joined. - Flavio following us around with a camera was a bonus as we came away with a USB full of photos. Just a heads up, he asks you to do some quite silly poses and they are not always so flattering so maybe take a few selfies too if you want to make sure you have some where you look good! If I'm being 100% honest: - We felt a little pressured into buying souvenirs from particular people. We were happy to do so as they were inexpensive and these people were genuinely in need of tourist custom, but it can make you feel a little uncomfortable/awkward. - We were very tired when we got back as it's a very long day. Again, we were fine with this and glad to cram in as much as possible, but something to think about if you have young children or poorer health :)

We went on two amazing day trips (Chichen Itza and Sian Kaan) with Flavio on our trip to the Maya Riviera this May. Both trips were amazing and we would love to explore ALL of the tours Flavio has to offer as he's a fun, informative, and passionate guide. Both excursions were very small groups, 6 total for Chichen Itza and just my partner and I for Sian Kaan. On both our tours we were picked up and got a bright and early start to the day. This mean that we beat the crowds to Chichen Itza and had plenty of time to explore the ruins, learn from a guide with decades (4!) of knowledge, and take in the amazing architectural details while besting the heat of the day. We also stopped at a lovely crystal blue cenote and a picturesque town of Valladolid. In the case of Sian Kaan, it is a prestine nature preserve, that is well worth the bumpy road in. We spent almost half an hour watching dolphins play, tracked a large sea turtle, saw a crocodile sunbathing, sighted plenty of birds (osprey, cormorants, pelicans, fridgates), swam with a sting ray, and snorkeled through some reefs. During both trips, Flavio went out of his way to take tons of pictures of my partner and I, downloading them all onto a USB for us to enjoy forever. As well he brought his new Go Pro to Sian Kaan and took cool videos for us too of dolphins jumping and underwater of the reef. The food (included in the price for tours) was delicious. Flavio stopped for some nice breakfast Tacos on both tours. He takes you to more local spots where possible to find a lot more flavour than at your resort. The tour bus is also always stocked with drinks and snacks as you need. Simply a great time, and would recommend to all interested in exploring the Maya Riviera. Plus Flavios just a nice guy - even stopped to help a stranded tourist who's bike broke down in Sian Kaan.

Great tour to Chichen Itza! Carol is very responsive during booking and communication, Flavio is knowledgeble and well-prepared for the tour. Also our driver and guide at Chichen Itza are nice. We were in a small group of 6 people, the van trip is smooth with a video about Mayan history, pretext about the site. At Chichen Itza we walked slowly with many information at each stop. Flavio took many pictures for each of us while carrying water for all. We were also offered sun umbrellas which are super helpful. We then head to the cenote where we cooled down and had a good lunch. The final stop is Valladolid, and we enjoyed the small town center. The tour is great in every aspect.
