We visited this place last week. We were picked up at our hotel by a taxi and asked to go to Mercado 28 as locals had recommended. On arrival our driver said she would drop us outside a jewellery store called Opalo as this was...More

Mercado 28 has probably the widest variety of souvenirs that you’re looking for. Most of this stuff you can probably buy near your hotel. To be honest, I’m not sure if there’s a big difference in price, but you can always check it out. I...More

After reviewing all the comments I was not excited about this place. However I was surprised when I arrived, regardless if you are buying products or not it is a good place to see some of the loca culture and have sort of local food....More

Nice spot to buy some fridge magnets, and other “locally themed” items. Went there around mid day on Sunday and it was not crowded at all, as well as sellers were not too aggressive in forcing us to buy anything. All in all ok!

After reading so many negative reviews about this place we still decided to give it a shot as I didn’t want to go to an American styled shopping mall nor the flee market. The shops were repetitive and there were a lot of shops try...More

Before visiting Cancun we had heard many people say that we needed to visit the Market 28 in downtown Cancun. When we arrived by taxi, they drop you off next to a jewelry store where you will be pulled into the store by any means...More

When we heard about this place we were really excited to go…once we got there we were pretty disappointed. There were a lot of souvenirs but the trip from the hotel zone wasn’t worth it. The staff were very pushy and followed around the store...More

I was looking forward to coming here but was disappointed. I found it difficult to find after the R2 bus drops you off in front of the pink store that also has a 28 in the name. By the time we finally found the market...More

Went to Market 28 as many reviews had three and 4 “dot” reviews and all of these travel agencies recommend it. I was excited to haggle with these so called “pushy” salesman. Had one guy follow my family in the shadows through the maze of...More

I know that Market 23 is for the more seasoned travelers but I was happy with 28. A short bus ride for the hotel zone and we found some lovely souvenirs for home. Maybe the next trip I will try 23?

We chose not to walk when the bus is only 10.5 pesos. Taxis cost too much by comparison. We only used taxis after dark.
