Absolutely beautiful aqua water. Lots of waves. Coral underfoot when initially entering the water. Be careful! Umbrellas for rent at 400 pesos. No chairs.
Loved this beach.

I swim at this beach for 9 days.
It is fully crowded on weekends with local people, also some people spend the night there.
The beach has a part that doesn't have such big waves, were you can enter normally into the water and swim. It is by the pier.

Also be aware that Coco Bongo is situated here, so you will listen to very loud music all day long.

Nice beach, slower slope than playa del fino. Never found the free or for rent chairs but guys working the hotels sent us down the beach like they were there.

This place is great. It’s family owned and they really care. Every time I come to St. Augustine I eat here at least once. Everything I’ve had here is excellent. The Mole is wonderful. My friend had carnitas and she said it was the best she ever had. I had shrimp chac mool and really enjoyed it.

It's a nice beach but without public sun shelters. Here the waves are smaller and it's shallower than Playa Delfines. It's better to visit in the evening time when there is no sun and walk to the cape

This beach is so beautiful. Turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and cotton candy skies at sunset. There was a great mix of tourists and locals at the beach. I'd be at this beach everyday to watch the sunset if I lived in Cancun. Don't skip out on visiting the beautiful beach!

Chac-mool, Cancún, Q.R., Mexico what a great fine- these public beaches are actually beaches that the hotels with beach access do not own but utilize like everyone else. There are designated areas for hotel guests however the vendors on beach for a small fee will provide chase loungers or plastic chairs - just like the $400 plus++ a night folks are spending at these hotels - there are public bathrooms/showers sometimes there are folks outside selling really anything- your call to engage or not-
I brought a beach blanket I travel with and bottled water- honestly it’s all I needed I stayed downtown area in Cancun had just a bag - easy easy easy plenty of stores along the hotel strip if you’re not staying in close proximity and forgot something.
I WOULD not have felt relaxed with small kids waves can be fierce but enjoyable for body surfing not too deep out the waves could return you out to see. If you’re a good swimmer it’s warm water, clear to see my toes blue water - I did not find rocky or gritty like northern USA east coast beaches and less murky than east coast Florida beaches. The vibe is chill and walk a few blocks to shopping areas back on main line for food and drinks- again I stayed for $135 at a downtown Hilton brand to take in Cancun and enjoy its variety. It’s safe it’s clean it’s a beach where tourist and locals enjoy- loved it -

The view to be had from rocky outpost left of public area is good, for few moments. The photos exaggerate the niceness of this beach.

I’ve stayed in this area for a few weeks now and this is definitely my favorite beach near the city. Sometimes the waves are intense but sometimes it’s super calm, so if you have kids maybe just keep an extra eye out. The algae here has also been limited and on other days there has been a ton. However, I did see them cleaning the algae out front of the resorts. The water is very blue and shallow prettt fat out. Visibility is good but as far as snorkeling there isn’t much to see. There is food and bars close by and I did see a bathroom but didn’t use it. Overall a great beach and I’d highly recommend it.
