The Virgin of Guadalupe is one of the places you have to visit, even if you are not Catholic or religious. You don't believe the architecture if you see the Cathedral and the floors closer. This is even more impressive than the tower of Pisa!...More

The new basilica, which can hold up to 10,000 for a mass, and the huge gathering plaza for when the pope comes to say mass are only part of the delight of discovery. The story of Juan Diego and his encounters with the Virgin Mary,...More

I am not religious, however I really enjoyed my visit to this location. We turned up relatively early and so there were relatively few people and we did not experience any commercial ‘pressure’ from stall owners peddling their wares. The basilica itself is very tastefully...More

The place has several different buildings related to the Virgen de Guadalupe story. Besides, the views and gardens are nice. Recomendation: comfortable clothes and shoes.

The Virgin of Guadalupe was far away from our hotel but very crowded when we arrived. We expected a more historic building based on how popular it was. Very nice views of the surrounding mountains. We took Uber from our hotel and it worked nicely...More

I took the metro there which was very easy. When you leave the station (La Villa Basilica) it's a fairly short walk to the Basilica. The story of Juan Diego is interesting. The cloak is behind/below the altar of the round church. There are 4...More
