Every part of the grounds and home were breathtaking and helped us understand a time that most peope can't even fathom. We were a bit disappointed that the gift shop was not open. This is a must see if visiting Guanajuato.

For the few days we have been in Guanajuato, the weather has been perfect, blue skies with a few fluffy clouds, neither too hot nor too cold. We arrived at the Hacienda Barrera a bit before ten, purchased our tickets and proceeded to tour the...More

During Festival Cervantino, the patio garden area is used as an intimate music venue. The setting is lovely and the acoustics are quite good. We saw and heard an outstanding performance by Brazilian 7-string guitarist Yamandu Costa here, and the sound was excellent. The grounds...More

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of this hacienda and all of its historical dark intrigue. It is in good hands under government rule and is a museum, park. The rooms in the original house are quite interesting with paintings of the first Spanish residents.

After spending time around so many people in Guanajuato, this is a great place to slow down. For an artist, it is nice to draw or paint as they have many types of gardens and structures.

My son has been twice and Carlos was there both times. We were the only visitors when I went. I want to emphasize that there is no cost for the tour and the guide is dependent on tips.

Carlos speaks excellent English. Perhaps your hotel can call for you and get the information you wish. And reserve Carlos for you.
