This hacienda was just lovely! One could spend hours exploring all the little nooks of this place. Follow the stairs to the various gardens, rooms of the casa and different look out points. Enjoy a cup of cafe de leche at the cafe with touch...More

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of this hacienda and all of its historical dark intrigue. It is in good hands under government rule and is a museum, park. The rooms in the original house are quite interesting with paintings of the first Spanish residents.

We had a great visit to this hacienda - highly recommend a short trip outside of town. Our short tour added so much to our understanding of the history of the region, and the gardens are so beautiful. It was also a great place for...More

After spending time around so many people in Guanajuato, this is a great place to slow down. For an artist, it is nice to draw or paint as they have many types of gardens and structures.

The place by itself is great, however I would recommend to take a tour guide to get the whole experience and history of the place. Our tour guide was Carlos. He was terrific, very passionate about the Hacienda and very good storyteller. Tour guides usually...More

Our guide, Juan Carlos, really brought the history of the hacienda and its former occupants to life. His English is excellent, and even my 11 and 9 year old kids enjoyed hearing about the life of the husband, wife, and two daughters in the San...More

Beautiful gardens and great guides, who give great insight into the history of the region, just not into the history of the hacienda.

Based on other reviews, we hired Juan Carlos Aquino Perez at the museum to guide us through the house. He speaks English very well and made the experience educational and entertaining. He was not at the museum when we arrived but after touring the gardens...More

This 17th century grand hacienda (in its day) was owned by Captain Gabriel de Berrera. An heir to the Valenciana Silver Mine wealth. The surrounding gardens and structures within the extensive compound are truly impressive but in need of additional restoration. Even though it is...More

My son has been twice and Carlos was there both times. We were the only visitors when I went. I want to emphasize that there is no cost for the tour and the guide is dependent on tips.

Carlos speaks excellent English. Perhaps your hotel can call for you and get the information you wish. And reserve Carlos for you.
