Very nice very small collection, can be done very quickly, near the Diego Rivera house, well worth a stop and almost free (in dollars). Go but you will not spend very long there.

Great tourist attraction The mine was really unique very educational place. It's a big part of the history of Mexico. We totally enjoyed it, it was a little dangerous for my husband age (79) to walk down, so we decided just to stay and talk...More

The silver mine tour is a 15-20 minute cab ride from the center of Guanajuato. The tour includes walking down (and therefore back up) 60 meters into a mine shaft. The tour is in Spanish. It is time well spent.

As usual in Mexico is not always easy to have info from web sites, so we first went to the MUSEUM de la mina la valenciana, thinking it was also the place to go underground to actually visit the mine, but it was not. The...More

I'm totally into caves, but where I live there aren't any, so a mine was the closest thing that could fill that void! It is a steep walk down, and it's REALLY hot down there, so take that in mind. Other than going down into...More

If you have never been inside a mine, 200+ feet under the earth's surface, you are going to enjoy it. The tour guide only and barely speaks speaks spanish. Believe me, you are better off this way, because most of what they say is inaccurate...More

Our tour was lead by a former miner and his tale was extraordinary. At times it was difficult to hear/understand what was being said. My kids don't speak enough Spanish to have enjoyed this tour and as such I wouldn't recommend it for kids.
