My son and I hiked the ravine on a Monday, and it was very pleasant and challenging. The information on the trailhead is a bit conflicting and confusing with multiple trailheads I think, but what we ended up doing was taking a 30 minute Uber...More

Oblatos' Barranca (canyon) is really the Barranca of Huentitan--one of GDL's oldest and "bestest" neighborhoods. Mariachi king Vicente Fernandez is from there. The barranca is magical and a favorite for locals. Get there by taking the Macrobus along Calzada Independencia to the last stop. The...More

I am from Guadalajara and totally regret that I had not visited La Barranca before. This is such an amazing place and it is within the city. I had never expected that my lovely city had such a hike nearby. I’ve been living in Seattle...More

Beautiful ravine! Had a great time hiking down and up a different way. We put in about 4 hours and were on our ascent when my friend suffered from a significant cramp. Within 2 or 3 minutes, however, one of the horserider groups that we...More

If you want some beautiful views and great pictures, you must go. Make sure you are at least in average shape since the walk back to the top can be tiring.

We went here for a run on Sunday morning at 9:00. Since there are several entries into the canyon, I need to clarify that we went for a trail run at the entry at the end of Av. Belisario Dominguez. From there we went straight...More

This was a three hour round trip hike that ends at the rio grande. The views were absolutely stunning! It's a popular locals hike and we got lapped by every age group who are out there just for fun. We made a mistake in not...More

GO AGAIN? Yes, This was a great little hike halfway down the canyon on a broken rock and cobblestone road. The ending at a chain-linked fence looking over to a waterfall coming from the city was good (you could not really go further). Half-way down...More

DO AGAIN? Yes. This is a medium easy hike that took about 30 minutes to the fenced area by the waterfall and 35 minutes back up (I'm a medium hiker and did not take any stops). I went mid-morning and there were many people, at...More

I know a bus line goes there (we saw them all parked on the same block as the entrance) but we didn’t use the public transit while we were there so I️ have no idea how to access it.
