This mega market, supposedly the largest covered market in Latin America is only interesting in that you may get some of the local colour. Usually,a ll the products are very low grade.

Delightful chaos, yes, but I missed the handmade articles....now most everything is machine-made...at handmade prices!

This mercado is one of our favorite. It is huge! So many delicious places to eat. You can just about anything. Our kids have lots of fun shopping and eating here. Its a lot of fun to just walk and see everything they have.

This place is incredibly large with 3 floors of food and many types of products to shop for. These range from purses, bags, shoes, jewelry, electronics, toys, watches, sunglasses, hardware items, kitchen items---well just about anything you'd find at a "flea market" in the U.S....More

This place is craziness X 10. Thousands of vendors squeezed into this market place and thousands of shoppers. You can buy anything you can imagine both locally made and from China. You can purchase knock-off designer bags and can get your makeup done. There is...More

Coming from a Country with a big tradition in markets (and its fair share of petty crime), I can safely rate it as a disappointment. It's dirty, clearly dangerous, in a dump-meets-penal-colony kind of way. There are no pricetags on items, warranting for a robust...More
