For the second year in a row, I visited Punta de Mita to play in the fabulous waves that pound that coast. Last year was surfing but this year I chose something a little more doable for my age; paddle board surfing. I can tell...More
The village of Punta de Mita is a small but beautiful place to visit. The most beautiful beach along the route in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle is Destiladeras Beach. The restaurant is great. Sit in the sand by the beach and drink the best Margaritas...More
Hands down one of the best experiences of my life. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by many smiling faces, including the owner himself. He offered us the best table in the restaurant, which included a million dollar view of the ocean...More

We rented a car while there and had no problems. Be advised that renting a car means ACCEPTING THE RENTING AGENCY'S INSURANCE. As you see renting a car is cheap but adding the insurance at often as much as $50 a day adds up. YOU cannot decline coverage or the rental agency will not rent to you. Alternate idea... At airport exit front door of terminal and turn left. Keep heading left and cross the walkway over the highway o the bus stop. Every 20-30 minutes you will see a bus that will say Punta de Mita on the windshield (passenger side). 2 bucks gets you to Punta.
