Plaza Machado is one of the main squares in the heart of old town Mazatlan. It is surrounded by great restaurants and is always displaying fun art, or fests for the seasons! The opera house is also located here. Get out to tourist Mazatlan and come down to Machado Plaza where you can watch the young lovers stroll hand in hand (being closely watched by their parents!) This is real Mazatlan! You are cheating yourself if you do not spend time here! …

music, vendors, & more..but I won;t be around to see it..at least not this time..but I will return..to Mazatlan..!..The plaza is in front of the Hotel Machado..there are alot of restaurants, but they are high priced because..of course,,this is a tourist trap..i wanted to go to the Peralta Theater, but was told at the taquilla that it was closed for a function.but I was so hungry..that I went across to a vendor that made me a tuna salad that was reasonably priced and delicious..Nice place to just sit and people watch but I was in a hurry to go to the malecon.…

Nice space to relax, shop from vendors, or have a meal at one of the restaurants. They often have musicians strolling the plaza and at some restaurants. Good family environment.
