Never found La Lobera
Feb 2019 • Friends
The road in February was horrible but we followed it the best we could until we decided we would never find La Lobera. We finally had to turn around. Signage was good at first but there was none when we needed it the most.

Very Beautiful
Apr 2016 • Family
Just traveled to San Quintin this last weekend and was a bit dissapointed with the valley of San Quintin itself. Nothing to do, no camping áreas only one access to the beach through the Old Mill área but is really not worth swimming in and is a bit dirty. For beautiful beach areas you must drive to the outer parts of San Quintin where you will also find La Lobera which is a very beautiful área really worth visitng. At La Lobera, you will see a huge beautiful sea cave enjoyed by lots of sea lions. You can also enjoy the costal área where you can sit and watch really huge waves crash into the cliffs.

Amazing Nature
Dec 2015 • Family
If you are coming from Ensenada is a 3 hour 30 min drive. Take the "Carretera transpeninsular" all the way south. Between San Quintin town and El Rosario pay attetion because there is only one small blue sign on the road that will tell you where you have to turn right immediately and leave the road..... keep going to the beach and you will find this beautiful place. I do not recomend driving a small car as there is no pavement, no signs, no security, get a truck and if its rain season make sure it is 4X4 as it can get veeeery muddy. This is a natural human population free place. The sea comes through a cave where sea Lions have their own private beach, it can all be seen from above. The ocean views are amazingly beautiful and the sunset is breath taking. After your visit, if you are driving back to Ensenada once you get back in the road, about 5 min drive, take a look in the right side there is a small place called "Parcela 12" they have all you can eat for $100 pesos, different types of home made plates, you can see the kitchen from your table. Everything is clean and the food delicious. The perfect place to finish this trip and go back with a full happy stomach

Great stop to stretch your legs

This is a short drive from the highway between San Quintin and El Rosario, just a few kilometers before the military checkpoint. When driving south keep an eye open to your right, there are some power line post near the exit and its marked by a small sign. 2 WD vehicle OK when dry. Don't leave small children unattended it has a small barrier letting you know not to cross or you'll drop the 20 odd meters to the beach below with the sea lions.

Fraud

This shouldn't even be advertised. The road is closed, but even if you manage to walk trough, you will get to a surveillance booth and a fence that forbids access. The place is private now.

Worth a visit
May 2015 • Family
It's a pretty cool place to visit for many reasons. It used to be a natural cave, but the top fell through forming something like a stadium size ocean water pool with a beach and sea lions. This is quite unique. But there are a few more reasons to get there. The coast is rugged and beautiful, the road goes through a desert canyon (it's not paved, but graded, so you don't need a 4x4 or any special vehicles) and senor who lives there gave us a very nice presentation about the lions and the sea creatures they farm for those lions. He speaks Spanish only, but he is super friendly and does his work very well, so a few dollars would be a well deserved donation.

Cool!

I personally didn't find it that big of a deal, the scenery is beautiful tho... well in general the ocean is beautiful..
and there are a bunch of sea lions in the cave; looking comfortable while you just stare at them.
so it's a nice quick stop if you're going somewhere else, just snap some pictures enjoy the view for a bit and go... :D
(I do remember however that to get there, there is this dirt/sand road that if you're going in a small/old car, you probably won't make it cause you have to pass this sort of small ravine full of sand where you car can get stuck, but it's honestly not that bad)

Wow! We though we were just going to see some sea lions but we also got to walk on the edge of the world! Beautiful rock formations, birds, patterns in rocks, 30 pesos to park, the view was priceless!! Eh also cultivate seafood near, and you can watch them farm lobsters. Amazing. I wish I was still there. Bring a nice camera & sunblock! Liquid'paradise!
