This is a lake set in woodland with fishing points but you need a permit. The area around it gets very muddy in winter. Lots of water fowl Dogs love it but risk being shouted at by fishers if they go into the water

Great place for dog walking or just to meander around. Woods & open fields. Dogs can’t swim in the lake for two reasons fishing & underwater plant growth that they can get caught in. An overflow stream is ok for them to cool off in.

There's a nice route from Monken Hadley common down to Jacks lake. There are loads of ducks there and generally just peaceful looking at the lake.

Monken Hadley Common is an unspoiled forest, great for cycling, walking, running or horsing! :) The lake is calming to look at. Sadly, some visitors leave their rubbish behind! There are also many big dogs not on a leash.

I use to go here over 50 years ago as a schoolboy. But despite many patient hours waiting with rod and line I never caught a fish. A jam jar and sticklebacks was the best I managed. Lovely to know it's still here and cared...More

We had a lovely walk around the common. A nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Good paths, maps to keep you on track. Clean and tidy. :)
