Tremendously interesting visit to a charming church. Visited because the manse was the home at the time of his birth of Colin MacLaurin one of the foremost mathematicians of 18th century in Britain. Interesting history leaflets. Also worth a visit to Lapidarium with carved stones.

While the Kilmodan Church is worth a visit, it is more interesting to see the carved stones in a building at the back of the graveyard. Very historic and there is a commentary on them as well. Great to visit.

The Kilmodan Carved Stones are a group of West Highland carved grave slabs exhibited in a burial aisle within Kilmodan Churchyard, Glendaruel, Argyll and Bute. They are in the care of Historic Scotland.And in a tranquill river side setting, by Kilmodan Church.

Stayed at Little Lodge, Glendaruel for a week. Just had to go & look at Kilmodan Church. It's very special indeed. From the minute I entered the Churchyard I felt completely at peace. My Surname is Murray - a couple of Headstones bear that name....More

great carved stones from 15th c, well worth a look if you are close by, gorgeous churchyard. beautiful old grave sites which for some reason i love. didn't venture into the church .
