Lovely walk along the burn and through the narrow gap in the rocks in to the vat. I was with a group who had never been through to the vat before and everyone was impressed.

After leaving the vat we walked to the upper view point overlooking Loch Kinnord.

A worthwhile walk for all ages.

Stunning walk to the cave which we scrambled through to the most beautiful hidden waterfall. We then walked around the Loch enjoying the tranquillity and wildlife. Unfortunately we came upon a couple with 6 very feral dogs which despite the signs were not on leads. One particular dog was very aggressive and hostile towards my young daughter. My husband had to carry her and after 10 minutes of the owner unsuccessfully trying to put the dog on a lead it bit my husband on the leg.

Burn o Vat is something that is worth seeing, it's a fun short walk from the car park, through a gap in the rock and out into the Vat. As others have said it's not a long walk, but there are a few other walks from the car park that make it slightly longer.

It is not accessible to anyone with mobility issues as it does require a small rock scramble/climb through the rock into the vat. Not suitable for buggies either!

It can be muddy/wet when there has been rainfall, but when we visited it was quite dry.

Also worth keeping an eye on the ground for wildlife as we spotted a slo worm and a lizard near the car park!

There is a small visitor centre with some information, and toilets as well as a tap for drinking water at the back of the visitor centre.

It was a short walk to the waterfalls, but an amazing hidden gem for all ages.
We did the long loop walk which took us up into the forests, very quiet and peaceful walk, but half way came across fallen trees across the path. We managed to get round them, but there were no signs warning people.

Did the short Burn O’ Vat trail loop from the Car Park, the Vat was interesting without being jaw droppingly amazing imho. Kids loved scrambling over the rocks & up the waterfall. We tried going up the waterfall and up the slope to the right to join the path back to the car park from there but couldn’t manage this, too steep & no hand holds as far as we could see, so came back down the waterfall & did the ‘normal’ loop. If you don’t like steps or climbing, you can just do an out & back route to & from the Vat rather than coming out of the Vat turning left & up the steps to form a loop back to the car park. Not accessible if you have disabilities! Toilets at visitor centre. Wellies probably a good idea if it’s been wet recently. We got away with walking shoes ;)

Fantastic natural formation,a bit of scrambling and or wading required, depending on weather, rain fall etc. But well worth it for those who are able to access this special place. Wellies are a great idea! If yiu have time, then wander through the adjacent woods, looking out for birdlife.

Beautiful. It’s only a short visit but we enjoyed our visit immensely. Didn’t think we’d be able to climb in due to the heavy rain but we managed easily. Didn’t find it immediately - had to do the circular walk a second time to realise we had to take the spur path to actually get to it. Lots of parking and toilets also A very large block and clean.

We had been recommended to come and see the vat, and it was beautiful. I can imagine with a better rain fall it would be even better. Its a very short walk to get to the Vat. You need to climb through the gap to get to it so wear shoes with a good grip. If you want to do the loop it is up a steep bank. The loop is just over a 1 mile so not a big walk but there are 4 other walks around the Lock Kinard which can extend your loop

This place is awesome. We took the red trail from the carpark but wondered why we didn’t find the cave. The secret is to follow the ‘spur path’ route at the second bridge. You need to climb over wet rocks to get into the cave so wear walking boots.
