This popular beach spot fulfills the fantasy of the ideal Caribbean beach, but is just as famous for the scenic rainforest drive that must be made to reach it.

It is quite a drive to get there, but well worth it - the road over the hills gives you a good perspective of what this end of Trinidad is like, away from the coast. Maracas bay is a fairly small beach, but lovely, and...More

I’m an avid traveler and foodie and Maracas pleased both my palates. 😃. Richards bake n shark opposite, loungers available for rent and great company, it was nice. I recommend going during the week if you want peace and quiet, however always be careful not...More

The beach was very sleepy and non touristic. We bought a beer from a bodega on the fishing end of the beach. We found Richards bake among other vendor copycats and the shark and bake was very good. There was one lifeguard stand and a...More

Dunno who is making the decisions but they are doing a good job of screwing up this once lovely beach...raw traces of faeces showing up in drains and the beach is over taken by these rental of lawn chairs...even though not occupied they are laid...More

the beach itself is nice. i frequent it a few times a year sometimes on work. Las Cuevas which is a little further "down the road" is a better beach imo. Still it does have its merits: Decent food shacks and such.

Not necessarily what you expect in a Caribbean beach. Big waves to play and surf in, Kingfish or shark and bake make this place hard to beat - my favourite beach in Trinidad.

Get here if you can. It is a beautiful wide beach with parking, food/drink, lifeguards, bathrooms. Lots of parking and best of all, Richard's Bake and Shark. If you've never had this, you have to. Try the sauces, they're key.

The road is very narrow for the 2 lanes and it has many twists and sharp turns. Would highly recommend to go with an experienced local (tour guide). They also drive on the opposite side as North America so that is something... More

It's not expensive, I would compare it to a motel from about 40 years ago. Bare bones. But it's right on the beach basically. You just cross the street. But it is run down. I stayed at the Hilton in POS and that was 3 stars... More
