About
The Cayman Brac Museum, the oldest Museum in the Cayman Islands opened its doors to the public on December 3rd, 1983. Through the years our efforts have been focused on preserving the unique history of Cayman Brac & Little and creating informative exhibits. The Museum’s home is the Old Government Administration Building built in 1933 which housed the Post Office, Customs, Treasury and much more under one roof before it was replaced by a new building in 1983.

A delightful little museum in the former Government Building, it has a little bit of everything about the Brac's colorful history. One of the main exhibits is about the 1932 hurricane, with a lot of personal stories about the terror of the storm and the painful aftermath. Powerful stuff. Admission is free but donations are accepted - it's worth $20 for the sheer variety in such a small space.

The artifacts and history should not be missed. Interesting and informative. The staff was friendly and explained any questions that we had.

A very small thee room museum with lots of island history; one room dedicated to a 1932 hurricane that devastated the island. Free admission but donations are appreciated (and without pressure).

It was a nice stop to kill a little bit of time. It was free but they accept donations. There was no photography allowed inside the museum. It has some old thing from the island and shows a little bit of island history.

For such a small island, this is an extremely informative museum with lots of artefacts on display. We were warmly welcomed and the lady working there was happy for us to wander round and look at everything we wanted to.

This museum is small but is packed with lots of interesting facts. The Cayamnite rock display is wonderful. The description of the 1932 hurricane was depicted with honesty and horror. Displays of old boats and how they were built was very interesting to me. There is a small donation box - but no hint as to how much to put into it.

Very small museum. Some very personal stories about families on the island. Very sad stories about surviving the hurricanes. Worth the visit.

The major features of this museum are the displays paying homage to the 1932 devastating hurricane and the history and lore of catboat building. Photography is not allowed.
