We had the Rum & Chocolate Tasting Tour with Omiah. The estate is beautiful and the tour is excellent value for money you get to try a wide range of rums and different chocolate much more than we expected. Omiah was an excellent host, friendly, chatty and has a great sense of humour. The best guide we have had in St Lucia. In addition all the other staff we encountered were so friendly and kind. Highly recommend including the Morne Coubaril HIstorical Adventure Park in your itinerary.

Myself and partner visited this park as part of a tour sold by TUI (Tout Bagay) today. I was absolutely disgusted to see a donkey tied by its neck and tummy to a sugar well which the donkey turns. When the donkey does not walk, it is whipped. The donkey is unkempt, scars on its backside and makes whaling noises showing quite clearly the distress this poor animal is under. I have since read a previous review to which their is a response to say this donkey is untied after the tour, I can assure you this was not the case and the donkey was left whaling. Witnessing this mistreatment caused so much distress that 2 tourists were reduced to tears and after reading Saint Lucia’s Animal Act, the treatment of this Donkey under Saint Lucian law is illegal. I am absolutely sickened to have witnessed and been a part of a tourist group which has given this company money to continue this level of mistreatment to these animals and now want to raise awareness to everyone how utterly wrong this is.

We did this tour as part of a catamaran tour of the island (We were on the Calypso Cat from Rodney Bay, the catamaran tour was great) Its an old plantation, showed us typical living quarters for workers back in the day, how palm trees are used for coconuts, fibre, fuel. Tasted the coconut milk and flesh, as well as cocoa. Saw how cocoa was processed, and how sugar was squeezed out of cane using a mule for power. Gave us a lot of information on the different plants native to the area. We had lunch there, food was ok, nothing special. It was a bit of walking, a bit much for my wife, who has a problem with one of her feet. If you have difficulty walking, may want to sit out the plantation tour. Would have liked to have seen inside the plantation mansion, but its off limits, family still lives there. Souvenir shop has all kinds of stuff, if you bake, I recommend you take home some vanilla, its natural, much nicer that the artificial stuff we normally get in stores. Also took home some honey, its very sweet and good. Just remember to pack in checked baggage, we forgot, they almost took it away at airport since its a liquid, were lucky that they let us keep it. Overall, I felt it was time and money well spent.

We also did the estate tour: perfect day trip, easy way to know a bit of the estate's,the village's and the island's history. The ziplinging is AMAZING!!! Emery and Andre are looking out for you, while also being really funny! They make the experience even better! Noelita was really knowledgeable, we could discuss past and current situation of the area. Geary was amazing with the coffee bean dance. The rum tasting was the cherry on top of it! :-) Just recommend!

Visitors get the opportunity to see a working mill, houses, and rum making at this estate with buildings and dwellings. Locals hull and split coconuts for samples of the coconut milk and meat. We had a tasteless, unappetizing Caribbean lunch at the estate dining room.
