- Mari Z13 contributionsBest massageMassage in the blue tent. Spencer is a physio so he's doing a better massage than all others around. I was very happy with my massage and he is cheaper than the other massage on Rodney's beach. (half the price and longer) so if you are here for vacation take a massage :) You will love itVisited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten December 30, 2023
- 218kimberlytLondon, Canada54 contributionsBeautiful beachThe beach was an easy walk from our hotel- Harmony Suites. Lots of room for everyone - even on Thursday and Sunday when the cruise ships are in port and people access the beach from the boat. You can rent 2 lounge chairs and umbrellas for approximately $20USD for the day with some negotiation. The water is clear and warm, under tow can be strong so watch coming out of the water. As a result of the under tow, boat wake etc, the sand can form sand bars that you can’t easily see when entering exiting so it can be uneven and you can enter the water because fell- good news is landing is soft lol. New Year’s Eve fireworks were great from the beach!Visited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten January 7, 2024
- David M1 contributionOK but loud and overly monetized.OK if you need an easy-to-access, scenic beach, but overrun with loud vendors. One blasts loud music every day from a PA system which you can hear from several area hotels. At least they all moved on with a “no thanks, we’re good.” Just not the peaceful escape I had imagined. The beach itself is a natural wonder. Enjoyed the scenery here once I found a spot. Sunsets are epic. Jet skis zoom back and forth next to swimmers in the area. There was a fatality here a year ago and the local government still hasn’t done anything like mark off separate zones.Visited February 2024Traveled soloWritten February 4, 2024
- HospDocTrumbull, Connecticut65 contributionsReduit Beach…a very good choice for the family!Really nice beach and for $20 USD you can rent two chairs and an umbrella for the day. Spinnakers is a beach bar that has good food and drinks. The water was very clear and beautiful. The only drawback was the locals selling goods and a bit more intrusive than I would have liked. But definitely worth.spending a day or two at if you have the time.Visited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 14, 2024
- Nohelia RSan Antonio del Tachira, Venezuela6 contributionsFabulous time at Kevin's spot!I came to St Lucia to reset and have 10 days by myself, I wanted nothing but to be on the beach everyday, read my books, swim in the ocean and that's exactly what I got. I went half way along the beach and discover a nice little quite spot, where I met Kevin (my chair and umbrella guy, who became a friend by the end of the 10 days) he was helpful, respectful and kind, had good chat (if you chatted to him) and sold beers and cigarettes too (for those who wanted them). I particularly like his spot as there where no boats near it, it felt a bit more secluded and had a beautiful 180 view of, with the mountains to my left and the Pegion Island just diagonally across, and buyer part of the beach to the right. Loads of people will go by and sell coconut rums, including Bernardo (i think was his name) an older man who made the best coconut rums, ask for him if you can, he'll get you to drink the coconut water fill your coconut with ice and proceed to add about 10 different kinds of rum! I absolutely loved this island, I barely left, spent a day in Pegion Island which is only a 4 min taxi boat, a return trip for $20 US, you can tell the what time you want to be picked up and they will head back and get you. And another day on a boat going down to the Pitons, but the rest was on this exact spot. The beach itself was clean, beautiful clear water, you can swim as the little fishes come near you, quiet on the days that cruises aren't in town, but even when the cruises came, Kevin's spot was still my favourite. As it wasn't as busy and loud as near Spinnekers (a bar on one end) Would recommend 100%! On my last day, there was a family group with a differently able person, who was being helped by Kevin and his coworkers so that the family could take their dad swimming for a bit. (the guys only helped to get this man in and out of the water, but still were very friendly, respectful and accommodating). Absolutely loved it, if there is only one thing I'd suggest, is that if you go here, please do pay these people their value, don't go there if you're going to be haggling down their rates, that's not fair. Besides that, Go to St Lucia, people are friendly, kind and helpful. Ladies, be aware the men will hit on you left, right and centre but they're harmless, they all just want a chat and connect but flirting is their initial approach, you'd be surprise, you might end up with a friend or two by the end of the trip ;) PS. If you come from the road, there is a restaurant called Razmat or something along the lines, the entrance to Kevin's spot is literally across from this restaurant, where there is a gate to an abandoned house that leads to the beach, and as you come out onto the beach, he is right there on the left. I've attached pictures of him and the spot itself.Visited March 2024Traveled soloWritten March 19, 2024
- psudinoWeehawken, New Jersey4,430 contributionsCrowded beach. Up north it is OK, but south it gets full and lots of vendors.Thankfully our hotel was at the northernmost point on Reduit Beach so it wasn't too bad. It was still crowded but I think thanks to the Bay Gardens it was without vendors. I took a walk south on the beach and it remained very busy but there were also a lot of vendors. I would describe this as a typical touristy beach in a touristy town. Stay on the northern part and it is fine.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 24, 2024
- Amber M2 contributionsNice beach but a lot of vendors that bother youNice place for a day out however there are a lot of local vendors around. The vendors renting out beds and parasols are quick to approach you and one of them was even waiting right outside our taxi trying to open the door. We paid $20 for 3 beds and a parasol however it’s best to haggle as other people have paid $25 for 1 bed. The beach itself was quite nice and a good place for snorkelling with some fish close in however there are no public toilets or showers.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 29, 2024

The taxis are a scam. Beware! You will be quoted 1 price and when you go back, you’re forced to use the same taxi— it’s a completely different price... $70 US!! The price is supposed to be for round trip. You’re dropped in front of a restaurant where the “beach ambassador “ comes out to the taxi and walks you to the beach and asks for $50.00 for 2 chairs and an umbrella. After haggling in front of a sign that says 20.00 for 2 chairs and an umbrella, you’re escorted to your spot on the beach.
The beach itself isn’t bad but there is a lot of garbage in the sand. Vendors walk by every few mins and harass you to buy trinkets which is really annoying. You also have to pay to use the bathroom— which was disgusting. While we were there, a little boy was stung by a jellyfish and required medical attention.
While on the beach, the locals were smoking weed (the smell permeated the air) and arguing over money using some very colorful language. Beware if you have children. Definitely not a family friendly place.
I would not recommend this beach and will never return.
Also— on my way back, after arguing with the first tax driver, I got into another taxi, the driver overheard the entire argument and his reaction was “oh did he try to rob you?” As if this was some kind of a normal occurrence.
beware.

Been to reduit beach for a number of years but wont be going again. Taxis squash so many people into taxi it is uncomfortable. The beach is pretty but the staff, vendors and hawkers are always arguing amo ngst themselves with colourful language at times. As a result it was not a relaxing experience. If you do go dont take the sunbeds near the drop off take them further up to the left of the beach so you miss the arguments mainly about money. Taxis charge you retun fares and our return taxi driver tried to charge us again. Time for somewhere different next time.

Visited here as a couple. Lovely yellow sandy beach. The sea did have a bit of wave and could be a bit rough knocking you off your feet at times. Beach has a lovely view to take in. We purchased two beds and parasol which was pricey at $30 compared to other beaches we had visited over a few weeks. We were dropped at the car park by Spinackers and walked to the beds straight ahead. They were right in front of the sea so decided to stay there as it was right by a restaurant/drinks. Throughout our stay on the beach the local bed attendants, lady shop owners and sellers/passers argued frequently at different times. Quite aggressively and very loud. All about money and who was taking advantage or being dishonest and some just chirping in to join the argument. There was no chance to really relax, sleep or read a book. There was no music playing either in that area. We gave up and left the beach early. Out tip, check out other areas of the beach which might be more inviting and relaxing.

Plan your departure time with taxi before you settle in. There is very little flexibility as you pay for round trip with the same driver. No leaving earlier without big fuss. Minor inconvenience though. Beach is nice. You will be directed to rent umbrella and chairs when you arrive. We passed on it and headed left allowing us to negotiate down. Separate entrepreneur will sell drinks either individual or by the bucket- beers were $4 each or $3 by the bucket. You can hit the beach bar if you want. A nice day.

We took a taxi ride from the cruise port to this charming beach. Quick taxi ride unless you get stuck in a traffic jam.....well traffice jam on an island. Taxi guys directed us to a group of guys on the beach which took care of all our beach needs. Pretty narrow beach that falls off quickly into the water. An ocassional heavy wave can curl in so be careful. A few small restaurants and a resort dot this small beach area. Plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas available. This is nothing fancy but we felt very comfortable and safe. One local worker sat down with us for a while and talked about the local area and his experiences. We really enjoyed the company and education. Very inexpensive way to hang out at a beach with all the usual watersports available.

To say that Rodney Bay and Reduit Beach in particular is popular with tourists is the ultimate understatement. It was packed, I mean packed - lovely without a doubt, but heaving. We got sunbeds as part of our excursion, umbrellas were $10. Swimming there was very pleasant and judging by the odd bits not covered by sunbeds, the sand was soft and creamy white. There were changing rooms and toilets nearby. After a couple of hours my wife couldn't take the claustrophobia inducing experience any longer and headed for the bar in the St Lucia Yacht Club for a cooling libation. I joined her shortly after. The bar is on the first floor overlooking the beach. Nice spot to to relax. Two beers for $5.

Beautiful beach in harbor. Calm water. Sandy bottom (though some large rocks in spots). Shared Taxi (minivan) was $7 per person each way from cruise ship terminal. We pre arranged a return trip pick up time with the driver. Worked out well. Traffic to and from beach bad but with only one road in and out just have to accept it as part of the experience. At beach - Chairs and umbrella for the two of us totaled $20 plus tip. Chairs are tightly spaced but everyone there to relax so it was fine. Staff was on hand to serve cold drinks at your chair.
We ate a pop up tent place on beach called Seagulls ran by a local lady named Magdalene. Everything is cooked to order so took a bit but some of the best chicken I have ever had!!
Hawkers were plentiful but a simple no thanks and they left. Again just part of the experience.
We had been running all week doing excursions and this place gave us the “beach break” we needed!

A beautiful beach, with lovely soft sand and warm water. Spinnakers beach bar side has a very steep shelf into the water, is quite rocky/shingle and the waves can get rough and the sunbeds are us$30 for two with a parasol. The bottom bit with Marie’s beach shack is a lot more gently shelving, sandier and is better for snorkelling as there are grasses, sea urchins and a lot more fishes. Two sunbeds with a parasol is ec$30.

Widely touted as the best beach on the island, it’s okay. We went twice and were situated by Spinnaker’s, where the beach slopes rather sharply down towards the sea, which means the sun loungers don’t lie completely flat, so it’s not super comfortable to lie on for a prolonged period of time.
You get hassled by a lot of various people selling different things, they usually are fine with a ‘no thank you’, but it does get tedious.
If you want something to eat, there are places are available, but the prices are extortionate. They charged us $60US for a roti, a baguette, and a drink.

if renting chairs/umbrellas and swimming/relaxing.....are there public washrooms? where?

There are many bars along the beach where you can use the facilities ... might have to purchase a drink . Can’t recall seeing any public change rooms

Two questions: -
1) Is the exchange rate in St Lucia better than buying the currency in the UK before travelling?
2) How much do they charge for the beds and umbrellas at Reduit Beach?
Written February 20, 2020
Yes the rate is better in St Lucia. Really easy to use debit card in cash machines at Rodney Bay. I can’t remember how much they charge for sun lounger etc. If you are staying in one of the hotels on the beach it is free.
Visit Wizard next to water sports guy near bay gardens beach resort.
We have been going to this beach every year for the last 10 years!

will be looking to spend an afternoon at reduit, renting chairs and umbrellas...……..can someone tell me 1) are we allowed to bring a small cooler with our own beers? 2) are there any restaurants on the beach that have easy take out so we can eat at our beach chairs? what are the offerings?
Written December 13, 2019
1) don’t see why not, it’s a public beach.
2) there’s a number of restaurants on the beach but would definitely recommend Liz’s Roti. Liz comes to the beach to sell her homemade rotis (beef, chicken or shrimp), fresh local juices and homemade cakes. All of which are absolutely delicious. And she’s cheaper than the restaurants.

Not for children! Teenagers? “Yes” Pulled by outboard motor boat. For children it’s “bring your own” available at shopping mall or shops nearby 🏝🏖
