This is a rather small museum, with exhibits on life in Fort-de-France in the 19th and early 20th centuries. However, there is no English information whatever, so unless you can read French, you're apt to be unsatisfied and 4 euros poorer.

We stopped by the Musee Regional D'histoire Et D'ethnographie while walking around Fort de France. There's normally a fee to enter, but the attendant let us in without charging us (probably because he could tell we were American tourists). This seemed odd at first, but...More

It's worth popping in as it's not too expensive but it's not a great museum. Exhibits are a bit tired but it gives good background to the deep history of the island.

The house is cute and the name is grand--you expect a good history lesson. But little is made of this opportunity. The whole first floor was taken up by a temporary exhibition about football (soccer) in Martinique. Great for those particular fans! The second floor...More

Two floors, one containing historical information presented by way of paintings/etchings/documents and the second showing rooms that might have been in the homes of local residents in the past. French-speaking guides, though, who were not bilingual, when we visited as part of a tour group....More
