Fort-de-France on a Sunday was fairly quiet, so from the cruise ship we headed to this nice little park a short distance away. Some statues to look at, including the frequently vandalised and presently headless one of Empress Josephine (a native of Martinique), wife of...More

One of the more interesting sights in Fort-de-France is the statue of Josephine in the park. She's headless (and will probably remain so) and has been vandalized, but this is perhaps not surprising given her relationship with Martinique. There are several small places to eat...More

This is the area were you have your restaurants, shopping and a boardwalk along the beach. Ferry’s are close by and there is also a park that’s family friendly and utilized by the locals.

Historical park in FDF - we loved it. Headless Empress Josephine residing over it at the one end. Nice place to relax at.

Had a walk round the park but it was nothing special, grass was wet due to the amount of rain that had previously fallen. A few cafes on and close to the park for refreshments/snacks. It’s close to the sea front and a play park.

Interesting statue in the middle of a public park. Not really worth going out of your way for but interesting nonetheless.
