Upon arrival the lift up to the mountain was very fun! However when we arrived, we were told to pay extra money to leave our stuff. When we came to the bobsled we were excited, but the ride was not even 2 minutes. After this we went back down already again. We paid in total around €40 per person and we were there for 30 minutes. It is way too expensive for what you get, so I would not recommend it.

We did the Bobsled, Ziplines, Raggamuffin, and ropes course. The guides for the zip course were hilarious! The bobsled is similar to the mountain coasters in the USA - fast and thrilling. The Raggamuffin was also electrifying. It reminds me of the Mountain Glider in Gatlinburg, TN. The ropes course was a pleasant surprise. My family tries to conquer every ropes course we find, and this one was fun and challenging too. One of the guides on the ropes course even volunteered to take pictures of us.
We loved everything about the place except the food. It was incredibly over priced and not very tasty. My daughter’s burger was some sort of gray meat that tasted like freezer burn and roof shingles. The jerk chicken was just lightly seasoned grilled chicken. I ordered a Sprite and was poured a quarter cup of sprite and a 3/4 cup of ice with no refill, while my son ordered a Coke and was brought a bottle of Coke and cup of ice. Our server never returned. We had to ask the lady at the bar for our ticket, which was surprisingly $72 for the four of us.
One other thing, you have to take chair lifts to do everything. They don’t tell you this on the website. A lot of people (not us) were upset that this isn’t mentioned on the website.
We will hopefully get to go again someday, but we will certainly skip the restaurant.

I love going to Mystic Mountain! The ride up ...I mean really up...in the chair lift is both absolutely beautiful and fun, but heart pounding as well if you have some concerns about height! At the top, you go bobsledding (remember Cool Runnin's with John Candy?), zip lining, swing out over the area on the Ragammuffin at dizzying heights, climb the ropes course, eat at the 5 star restaurant which has a stunning view, overlooking the town and sea . The infinity pool and slide sit up at this pinnacle as well. My favorite attraction in the Ocho Rios area

I have only been here once. I really don't like heights like that. with feet dangling and only a bar in front of you climbing hundreds of feet up in the air. when you do get to the top though they have a wonderful restaurant, lovely pool with a water slide and of course the infamous bobsled coaster!! its a great attraction apart from the only way i was told to get to the attractions. they also have a zipline for those adventurous people which I felt more comfortable doing than in that cable carriage with nothing but a bar.

This is the worst excursion/tour we have ever taken. We paid $256 to take a ride up the mountain, a 4 minute bobsled ride one time only, ride back down the mountain, and wait 6 hours for our bus ride back to the hotel.

Read this if you want to know the TRUTH! We were over charged and left sitting around all day waiting for a ride back to the hotel.

Let me begin by telling you that they sell the tour in parts and different companies sell the exact same tours at different prices. The Mystic Mountain Excursion consists of 1)Dune Falls Adventure 2)Bobsled Ride 3)Zipline Adventure 4)Sky lift ride, which you can buy in any combination.

We purchased only the bobsled ride and sky lift ride and paid $128 per person ($256 total). We were told our tour would be around 4 hours long from hotel pick-up to hotel drop-off. This was a lie. From Montego Bay, the bus ride is approximately 1 1/2 hours long. Once you arrive to the ticketing booth, the tour guide person had to go and purchase your tickets and that took another 45 minutes to sit around and wait for her to do so and hand out wrist bands. Then we found out that there was no bus to take us back to the hotel until the end of the day (5:30 - 6pm) when ALL the other guests had finished their excursions.

Warning - Toilets are OUT HOUSES! No plumbing at the ticketing area at the bottom of the hill. Only warning you have is a sign that says ECO-Friendly. I did not realize Eco-Friendly = Outhouse. I was horrified when I lifted the toilet see to see a huge hole in the ground. I screamed and ran. The toilets at the top of the mountain do have water and plumbing to wash your hands.

We were first upset to learn that we overpaid. Our travel agent bought the tickets through a company called Island Tours. As I stated, we paid $128 per person. Once we got to the hotel, our Apple Rep told us that she could have sold the the same tickets for $90 per person or $112 per person if we wanted to include lunch with it. We OVER PAID by $76 and received NO LUNCH.

We were then upset to learn that we were going to have to waste our entire vacation day sitting around at this tired place all day with nothing to do. The Sky lift ride is actually FREE even though they sell it to you like it's a site-seeing ride over Jamaica. It's not. The sky lift is the ONLY way to get guests up and down the mountain. There is no site-seeing to it. It's a 15 minute ride through trees and that's all you see. You can go up and down the mountain as many times as you like because they want people coming up the mountain to buy things and they have to have a way for you to get off the mountain. Even the workers ride the sky lift to get off the mountain after a day of work.

The bobsled ride excursion consists of ONE bobsled ride that lasts 1 minute down hill and another 3 minutes tracking you back up the hill. If you want to have more bobsled rides, you have to pay something like $28 for one more ride, $36 for two rides, or $45 for 3 rides PER PERSON. If you don't pay the initial high price for the first bobsled ride, you can't get the additional bobsled rides at the discounted price.

So we paid $256 to ride up the hill, take a 4 minute bobsled ride, and ride back down the hill. Then we had to wait an additional 6 hours for a ride back to our hotel. It was terrible.

More about the mountain. Once you track up the mountain, you will see what looks like a miniature ski lodge. There are a couple small shops. They take your picture as you ride up the sky lift and try to sell it to you once you get to the top. They also take your picture on the bobsled and try to sell you that picture, which we bought for $12. There is a restaurant and the food is mediocre at best. We had a burger, fries, and small coke and it cost $20 per person. The burger was a soy burger with a strange texture. I couldn't eat it. It was a smoked taste so that helped the flavor. The french fries were very good. The coke was flat tasting and not good.

Also on the mountain is a swimming pool and water slide that you can hang at to burn time. It is very small and full of people and children. Not relaxing and probably not the cleanest. That is it. There was nothing else for us to do. We rode the sky lift up and down the mountain over and over for nearly 6 hours. The workers told us we set a record for the most times a guest has rode the sky lift.

The zip line adventure looked fun if you are into zip lining. We did it in Mexico and enjoyed it but it was physically straining climbing hills and multiple ladders, etc. We were not in the mood to do it again and we certainly were not going to pay them any additional money after we already felt ripped off and taken advantage of. The Dunes River excursion is the other option. It is located at a different location. The bus has to take you there and then pick you up and take you back to Mystic Mountain for zip lining or what ever else you purchased. Be aware: the Dunes River Excursion requires you to bring or purchase water shoes. They charge $7 per pair to rent them or $18 to purchase them if you do not bring your own. They also told guests that they would get wet from head to toe. The water is very cold and the people are packed tight holding hands to get through this tour. Again, it doesn't sound like something I would enjoy.

Unless you want to zip line, I do not recommend this tour. If you want to see Dunes River Falls, go with a private tour guide who can get you in and out away from the crowds. Also, make sure you find out who has the best price for your tour. Don't get scammed like we did and overpay. Please do not make the mistake we made and pay $256 for a single bobsled ride that lasted just a few seconds and waste an entire day of your vacation.

No warning signs anywhere to indicate that this event is not suitable for young children. I took my mother, my 7, 4 and not quite 1 yr old. Not realizing what we were in for with the ride up to the top. The sky explorer which gets you to the top is basically a metal chair with a bar that is lowered into place to hold on too. My 4yr old and my mother who was holding my 1 yr old was placed in a single strap for safety. I guess this would have been fine if they didn't start to get antsy from the 15 minutes it takes to get to the top. The one single strap is not a suitable restraint for a screaming and squirming baby or toddler. Do not take children under not safe or advisable. With no way of communicating for help on that lift and the height at which it goes something can go wrong. I really feared for my daughters life, we had to hang on to her so tight to prevent her from squriming out of our hands. Also the manager/owner was not very helpful, they brushed off our concerns saying younger children ride on the lift all the time. Not the point, you need a warning sign so someone can say...maybe this is not for our family. Instead of just taking our money!!! Experience left me feeling really pissed!! They tried to tell us that their was no other way down either except by the lift. BS you have to have an emergency exit. They finally arranged a drive down for us on one of their back roads after telling them their was no way in hell that I am going to take my family back down on that lift. We got no apology, I felt like we weren't taken seriously and that we were a bother. Not recommended for young children!!

We visited Mystic Mountain through jaital tours and rode the chairlift (mandatory), the bobsled, and zipline. A driver picked us up at our hotel and took us directly to the place. We paid a small deposit online when booking then paid our driver, Alphonso, in cash upon pickup. He paid for our all-inclusive wristbands for us and told us to spend as much time as we liked. We arranged to meet him back at the entrance in about 4 hours.

The park is located directly off the road, but up the mountainside in the middle of a jungle. Once you got on the quad chairlift, you have a peaceful, quiet ride up to the summit and the park itself. You get your photo taken on the way up and photos are available for $12 each. The chair ride up gives you a great view looking down on Ocho Rios and Turtle Bay. Really cool to be riding above the treetops.
At the top there is a nice "museum"/entry hall filled with items and displays from Jamaica's athletic and cultural history. The bobsled team takes center stage, but there's also neat pirate historical accountings as well.

You may ride the two at any time you wish, but your basic admission only includes one ride each. Additional rides are available for a charge. We went to the right and hit the zipline first. You are fitted with all the necessary harnesses and a helmet by a guide and given a brief instruction. It's very easy-not much to do on our part but jump off when they tell us to. We walked down a trail to the first tower and proceeded to ride 5 sections with one being a vertical drop. 2 guides accompany you-one to stop you and one to get you going. Very cool experience through the canopy with the vertical drop as something different. Again, they take your photos which are available for $12 each.
Next, we went to the bobsled cars. Think personal roller coaster meets bobsled track. You control the speed, but I'd recommend laying off the brake for the whole trip as the car swerves through on rails so is plenty safe. Very fun but went so fast it felt shorter than the couple of minutes. Photos taken again.
After our rides were used up, we stayed at the center on top where there is also a really nice restaurant and bar, a good sized gift shop with bobsled stuff as well as some different crafty things, a small infinity pool with a wicked waterslide into it. We had lunch and a couple of Red Stripes overlooking Ocho. Good food on a mountaintop setting. Then hit the slide and pool. They do not have towels so I'd recommend bringing one from wherever you are staying as they do have lockers. We then rode the chairlift back down to the entrance to our ride back to our hotel as planned.

This isn't a cheap day but was definitely worth the money. I'd recommend scheduling when there is NOT a cruise ship in port (as we did) because it's much less crowded. We didn't have to wait in line for anything and felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. You can check the cruise-ship schedule for Ocho Rios online. Our waiter told us on cruise-ship days there can be 200 people going through up there. I'll bet we saw 20.
Enjoy!

We took a cab to this attraction as a last minute decision. It turned out to be the best day we had in Jamaica!! The tram ride up the mountain was beautiful! The foliage was amazing with huge plants and gorgeous flowers. Once on top of the mountain we enjoyed a great lunch and swam in the beautiful pool while taking in the gorgeous view of the ocean and cruise ships below. We took the bobsled down the mountain which was a blast and then took pictures on the slow ride back up. Once there we swam and relaxed and then for a few dollars we rode the bobsled again. My teen and pre-teen kids loved it!! We then took a short cab ride to Dunn's River Falls and climbed the falls and shopped at the craft market there. Plenty of time to do both in one day!! We counted this as the highlight of our stay in Jamaica!! You don't need a "tour company" to do this and can take your time and enjoy the day as you choose.

My husband and I (50 years old), along with our daughter and niece went on the three-in-one package "Tranopy" tour on May 11, 2012. We arrived in Ocho Rios on a big air-conditioned bus and began our journey up Mystic Mountain by the Sky Explorer. It was very picturesque riding above many varieties of trees and overlooking the ocean! Once we got to the top, we could relax in the infinity pool or go down the 75m twisted waterslide. You could eat at the restaurant or check out the museum. The bobsled ride would start and end in the same spot, next to the gift shop. They hooked up my bobsled behind my husband which allowed him to be in control of the brakes, so my job was just to scream and laugh at the same time! The thrill was pretty quick, but a lot of fun! If you wanted, you could go again, but at a cost of $22 U.S. each. We opted out because we found it too pricey. Our time ended at the top of the mountain and it was time to leave and catch the bus...so off we went to get prepared for our journey descending down the mountain by 5 ziplines. I am not a real dare-devil but did it and I am glad that I did! It was thrilling for all of us! The young guys working sure did know what they were doing and ensured that we were safe. They do however, have fun trying to scare you in believing that you are going to run into trees and such. But it was all in good fun! In fact it made it more fun! I can't say too much because if you ever decide to go on this tour, I would want you to experience the surprises like we did! This 3 in 1 package cost $135 each but would cost a lot more if you were to buy them separately. All I can say is that it was definitely one of our highlights from our trip to Jamaica! Go, have fun...live a little...feel the fear...but do it anyway! If I can, anyone can! It's a thrill!
