    My over experience was amazing.
Our tour guide Crazy was absolutely amazing. He was filled with a lot of information about Bob Marley. His energy was great. I went last year but didn’t do the tour. I’m so glad that I waited and has Crazy as a tour guide. One love!:)

    Loved every minute!
Loved every minute! Our guide was Irie Sue and she was so full of enthusiasm and a great storyteller. A definite must if you're a fan of Bob Marley. Also had a delicious cup of Marley coffee and a pattie (of course) as we had about a half hour wait before our tour started. Grabbed a few tshirts from the gift shop after the tour and checked out Marley Natural also.

    Awesome start then disappointment
It was so awesome learning some more details about Bob’s life , standing in his home studio and seeing clothes and other personal items of the legend! We were incredibly disappointed that we were not shown the 20min video that we paid for as part of the package as we had heard that it was really good. After the tour, I waited for a bit to see what was going to be done for us to make up for it as is customary in the service industry. The tour guide meandered around waiting for the tip that he had asked for . There was no attempt by any staff member to do anything for us eg partial refund or providing information on whether we could come back and see the video ( with today’s ticket) when it became available. I was really surprised by the lack of emotional intelligence from staff. I eventually asked if we would be allowed to return with today’s ticket to see the video and was told that they do not know when the video will be available again. No empathy, no emotional intelligence, nothing. I clarified my question by asking : Once the video is available , will we be allowed to use today’s ticket to view the video to which the answer was: yes.

    A must see
Looking around Bob’s house was surreal. Seeing the bullet holes in the wall was sobering and seeing where he actually recorded his songs was a treat. If you’re in Kingston it is a must along with enjoying lunch in the cafe - the smoothies are just the best.

    Awesome Experience
The Bob Marley Museum tour in Kingston far exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide Johnoy was extremely knowledgable and provided a lot of rich history throughout every room. Any fan of Bob Marley would appreciate this tour and meeting someone who knew Bob and the Wailers really put things over the top. Highly recommend and try the patties! Also the dispensary out back had some pretty good stuff.

Bob Marley Museum in Kingston is a Must Do
This was a stop on my Kingston and Blue Mountain Highlights tour with Caribbean World tours. I loved the museum tour, it was an hour long. The placed was packed with tourists like myself, but it was very organized. I learned a lot about Bob Marley and the music. The compound walk with the photos were great. I should have spent more time taking it all in. I thought this was a good way to get ready for his movie coming out on 2/14/24. Admission fee was $25, but it was included in the tour I was on.

Excellent way to learn about the history and legacy of Bob Marley
Excellent tour and tour guide. Definitely worth the time and money. Great way to learn about the history and legacy of Bob Marley, as well as about aspects of life in Jamaica. The tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. Only caveat...the tour was crowded...a bit too many people for the smaller indoor spaces. I bought my ticket online but there seemed to be no limit as to the number of walk-up sales for a 12-noon tour that actually started about 10 minutes later to accommodate so many walk-ups.

No visit to Kingston without stopping by Bob Marley House (Museum)
An amazing tour of Bob's home and his great accomplishments. Onika the guide was funny and knowledgeable. She answered all our questions and gave us time to have a feeling of walking in the legends personal space. Worth every penny but I didn't like the idea that I had to tip the cashier at the café and not the waiter serving us! I am not sure if the waiter got that tip!

    Informative tour
Visited the Bob Marley Museum in February 2024 and was not disappointed. We booked a 12 noon tour and when we got there, there were lots of school charente there on the day. There were lots of tourists at the time - not sure if the regular norm or it was because of the movie recently released. It costs US$25 for tourists - unsure if there is a different price for locals as I did not see it advertised. The tour guide was entertaining, engaging and knowledgeable. Photographs are not allowed inside the home, but you can take photos inthe area housing his jeep and outside. For anyone who is interested in Bob Marley or reggae music in general, this is a good tour to do. If you are staying outside of Kingston, it is better to combine with other tours as the tour lasts between 1 - 1.5hrs.

The Bob Marley museum visit was awful and unsafe. The guided tour should be no more than 8 persons. There were about 25 on ours which was far too many. We questioned the guide regarding him not wearing his mask correctly because he had his mask down around his chin the whole time in the museum and his reply was that he was wearing his mask! At that point we decided to leave as we felt extremely unsafe. He even said to the group that we wouldn’t get Covid as we were in Bob Marley’s house!! We were not offered a refund. This visit was the worst we have ever experienced anywhere and the people running this tour are putting profit before visitors safety.

Came by car, the staff watched us park up and get out, only to then be told to park the car around the other way. We did that, got back out and a man pointed and told us to get tickets. On the way to the ticket booth you pass a statue of Bob, so we took some photos. He came over and repeated for us to get tickets and so started heading over to the booth again, stopping this time by an information sign to read about Rita. He again came over, stared at us while we finished reading the sign. The last straw for him was then when someone then took a photo of the house from the sign some of us were reading. He told us to take no photos until we’d purchased a ticket, and implied we should delete the one we’d already taken if we weren’t buying a ticket. The only way to see the house is on a tour so it wasn’t like you can accidentally walk in without paying (you aren’t allowed to enter the property without being on a 90 minute tour with a dedicated guide). After the distasteful experience decided to not fund such a badly run and unwelcoming place for tourists.

If you visit Kingston you'll be probably be asked whether you will, or have already, visited this museum. Be aware that this is the Kingston house in this review. Tours are bookable and information about tour booking and prices is given on the website. Our tour was conducted by Stanley, who took us around the various rooms in the house, ensuring we sang the most popular Marley songs, and asking us not to forget the final full stop on Rita Marley's honours. The rooms are largely decorated with Marley memorabilia so the concept of what living in the house might have been like is somewhat lost. The kitchen comes closest to what life might have been like. Tour ended with a video presentation of clips from Marley's singing career. If you've seen 'One Love' this museum gives the movie an additional perspective. Outside you can imagine Marley playing football in the yard, although the yard is somewhat taken up by the booking office and the snack bar. The anticipated gift shop lacked large sizes in most of the T-shirts and the card machine in the shop was not working - which severely limited our choice of purchases at the time of the visit.

I have always been a Bob Marley fan, so learning more about his life and music was amazing. But knowing he actually stood where we stood, and created his timeless songs in the very rooms we attempted to sing them in was incredible.

We walked through the museum, and saw Bob's awards, albums, actual belongings, family photos, and a hand written note Bob himself had jotted. Our tour guide Jonoy (spelling? ) was fun and energetic. He included the music into the tour, letting the lyrics of Bob's music move the tour along, encouraging us all to sing along. Though members of our tour group we were from all over the world, everyone in the group knew the words. It was amazing and our guide made it even more fun and interesting! He was great.

We learned about Rastafarianism, and Bob's beliefs and lifestyle. We also got to meet Bob's friend and fellow musician who told stories about his and Bob's youth, and taught us to play reggae! We saw the bullet holes from the failed assassination attempt and watched a short film highlighting Bob's life and legacy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Things to know: This tour is not accessible because the museum is still very much as Bob left it. There are light snacks and refreshments available to purchase. The gift shop has cool and reasonably priced souvenirs. You are not able to take photographs inside the museum. There is no ATM on site - so bring some cash to tip your guide. They really are great and we forgot to do this and felt awful.

We had a guided tour with a group of about 12 people, the guide was both enthusiastic and knowledgeable, as well as being friendly and funny. The tour was interesting and the house filled with memorabilia. Glad we went, I think the trip for us was interesting for others, more of a pilgrimage as massive fans of Robert Nesta himself

Went here as part of an organised trip to Bob Marley's former home. Your given time outside to take photos of the grounds and paintings on the walls. Once inside you are not allowed to take photos or videos. Guide is very informative and jolly, sings a few songs along the way. Feels very much like a whistle stop tour, with other groups close behind or crossing over. We did notice somethings that were previously in the house were not now there or mentioned.

The Bob Marley Museum was an excellent experience, and a must for any music fan. The tour around Bob Marley's residence was carried out by a friendly and funny tour guide that was knowledgeable of Marley and could answers additional questions about the Jamaican icon. The tour of the house was nicely laid out with many different rooms covering almost all aspects of Bob's life (would have liked a little more coverage of Bob's children) and it felt very special standing in the studio where Bob created his timeless songs. The gift shop was slightly overpriced like many similar attractions but there was a good range of gifts on offer. The café had a relaxed atmosphere and was very good, no complaints, I would definitely recommend the smoothies. Overall, the Marley Museum had little to complain about and couldn't be much better; though it may not seem like much from the outside, once inside the house you become completely in awe, as you are transported into the life of the music legend.

An excellent tour of Bob Marley museum home tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour really enjoyable. He introduced Bob's songs throughout the tour and encouraged the tour group to sing along. Would definitely recommend it. Unfortunately the studio tour was sold out so it would appear that it needs to be booked well in advance.

Bob Marley our reggae music and even more so, Jamaica, on the world stage. Almost forty years since his passing, his music still speaks to peace, love, equality and more. The museum, his former home, provides a glimpse into the simple life he led and the impact his music and life had on the world!

The museum is located in Bob Marley's adulthood home. This would be a perfect context for a museum but it fails quite miserably. There is barely anything personal or furniture in the museum. There is Bob's bed on display, but nothing much else. You can visit his home recording studio, which is actually interesting to check. You can find also Bob's Land Rover parked in one exhibition toom.

Rooms are mostly completely empty but walls are filled with gold discs, pictures, news articles and art. Expect for the gold discs, these are items that are probably easily available on the Internet. At least there is no time to fully inspect them.

A mandatory guided tour costs 25 USD,and it lasts about an hour. Photography and video recording is prohibited. I don't understand why.
