First of all, the people of Punta Cana are gracious and helpful. They are proud of their country. The trip to Cabeza del Toro was an excursion through our all inclusive hotel, Grand Sirenis. We were looking for a way to escape the mounds of sargassa on our beach that made it impossible to swim there, so we decided, to take an excursion to another beach to snorkel, and swim in natural pools (sand bar free of coral). Actually, it was a marina, and we took a tour from there to the nearly deceased coral formations about a 15 minute boat ride from shore. We loved the sargassa free ocean experience, waters were calm, and warm. There was a small variety of colorful tropical fish, but you had to be adept at diving down with the snorkel to get close enough to see them.
There was also a dolphinarium enclosure there off the beach which we did not go to. Those poor animals are trapped to perform for the humans who don't care how exploited they are.

The town of Cabeza de Toro in the east of the Dominican Republic in the Punta Cana region has a beach of the same name that delights bathers, like all beaches on the coconut palm coast, with fine white sand, turquoise water and high palm trees. The shallow water is particularly suitable for families. Cabeza de Toro means "bulls head". The beach takes its name from the bird's eye view due to its shape. The ambience on this beach is a little quieter than on the other central beaches of Punta Cana. Bars and restaurants are only accessible to hotel guest and are therefore no incentive for outsiders. The hotels around Playa Cabeza de Toro are particularly popular with package holiday makers and travelers who wants to spend a wonderful beach holiday. Directly on the beach there are sports facilities such as beach volleyball or beach football and for your convenience there are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available for hotel guest only.

We had a short time here whilst on a snorkelling trip. The beach is beautiful white sand. The sealine however was rather murky due to the amount of seaweed which made it look dirty. Not sure if it was actually dirty however but was unappealing to swim in.

Ariving to the beach of Cabeza de toro is pretty easy. There is a public road all the way to the beach which is not common in Punta Cana. Anyway, to arrive to the wild beach in the natural park you will have to walk the beach to the left and pass two small resorts after which you arrive to the sign of entering the national park and thats the place where the wild beach begins. Theres more or less 2 miles of the beach until the next resort. Not crowded and a beautiful nature. No infrastructre, bars or toilets, thought you can find some local people selling some paintings and souvenirs but they are not agressive sellers at all like its usual for sellers like that. In general this beach is a nice private place in the area of Punta Cana for people who like to get out of the resort and eplore a bit.

Great beach for a walk when you get a tad tired of lazing in the sun. There is some seaweed but most hotels are constantly cleaning it up.

We did a boat tour that took us to this beach, absolutely beautiful. Turquoise water, soft sand, not super wavy, nice for the kids to swim. We loved it! Highly recommend!

This was our first time at this resort and my first time in Punta Cana. I couldn’t ask for a better experience from the pools, to the beach, to the food! Especially from the humorously named entertainment team, Eddi Murphy, Champagne and Mr. Blue. The bar staff, David and Freiline for being absolutely lit all night long. As well as Carlos Manuel Reye-Munez and Martin Ureña the waiters for the amazing food service night in and night out! I can’t wait to come back to the resort to see these guys again!

Long, fine sandy beach with natural beauty outside of the hotel beaches. If you walk along the beach, you will often come across lonely traders with whom you can have a great conversation and who do not offer their goods at fantastic prices (as near the hotels).
