The park is surrounded with restaurants and the plaza is buzzing with activity. The Columbus Home dominates the port side of the park. Great place to hang out and connects to Calle de Las Damas, the first paved street in the Americas.

This is an open space where you can see historic sites on every corner. Cool at night but also lovely during the day.

Located in the Colonial Zone, this is definitely a place to see and visit. Many events happen here throughout the year. Nice restaurants located adjacent to the plaza. The house of Columbus is located here and open during the day.

This is a big plaza in the Zona Colonial; with a few restaurants one one side and a big open space with Diego Colombus's house on one side. There was not much happening when we went there, but we could not stay for the Friday/Saturday...More

We visited near Christmas time, and there was a major concert/festival happening that night. The Plaza really came to life with people, music and fun. We walked around, and then settled at a restaurant on the edge of the Plaza to watch the festivities. It's...More

You will pass through here at some point because the Zona Colonial area is pretty small and this is close to the Fort and the museums, but there’s nothing much to see in the plaza itself. It’s not an attractive plaza and there was no-one...More

Every Friday and Saturday night, they have an incredible fiesta with a live band. This was absolutely the highlight of my trip and the most authentic Dominican experience I had. There were people of all ages, dancing and enjoying the music, having the most incredible...More

Once in a while is important to remember your history and where it began in Santo Domingo city. You can feel the past and think all we have done good and bad to be there today.

This is a large open plaza and space designed for entertainment and detracts from the nearby historical buildings and frankly you can give it a miss although it is the area outside the Alcazar so you cannot avoid it.
