    no place like this.
you are required to pay like 5 bucks for a life jacket - we got the half jacket, get a full. The tubes looked fun but where do you stash for your waterfall photo? You cannot touch the ground in the gorge and walls are slick, so get a good lifejacket to buoy you for photos. Bring or purchase a sealable, collapsable camera case there. We were there with about 8-10 others and got photos by ourselves.

You need to try this to believe it!
Just an amazing place to discover. The water is not very cold, despite a first impression. Still, you need to be a decent swimmer if you want to pass the gorges to the fall, as the water stream is quite strong, and you need first to swim against it, and than to avoid nasty collisions with the rocks on your way back. Quite an unique place worldwide!

    Titou Gorge…..A. M. A. Z. I. N. G.
The trip through the Gorge was so worth it. I can be a little claustrophobic but never felt uncomfortable swimming to the waterfall and back. The water is cold but not numbing. It was so worth it. See the blue skies above framed with the lush tropical plants was beautiful and the water fall at the end is so powerful. Of course, seeing the location from a scene from the Pirates of the Carribean was an added bonus!!!

Titou Gorge was a great experience. Thank you Kurt Jeremy
I was initially skeptical about this experience. But it is definitely something to see and do. Kurt Jeremy from Khatts Tours made this experience so pleasant because of his knowledge and care. We were only with him for a few hours but he explained so much about the island and did not let us miss out on experiencing the gorge. I got stuck under the waterfall and he was able to help me get my foot out from under a rock without any injury. I was watching other guides and Kurt was so much more helpful than the other guides. He took the time to get to know us and is someone you should request next time you’re in Dominica. Thank you Kurt!!!

Our brave guide jumped from 15 feet into the gorge, but the rest of us swam a short distance into the narrow channel. The water was opaque with an unpleasant greenish tone, but not very cold.

At the end there was a small but very strong waterfall. One has to be determined to get all the way into it.

Floating on your back you get a nice view of the gorge and the vegetation around it.

Titou Gorge is a must do and one of the most beautiful spots in the already lovely island of Dominica. One part of the gorge is where they filmed Pirates of the Caribbean as Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom jumped in.

The swim up the short slot canyon took only moderate exertion, no problem for an average swimmer. The dozen senior adults in our group had no problem, and the staff are on hand to help you up the stone ledge to step into the final pool where the water fall is. And you are required to wear a float (ski belt) which makes it relaxing.

The water is cool, but really not that cold and you get used to it in a minute or less. It felt refreshing in fact.

You will need to get some sort of waterproof and floating housing for your smart phone however. You'd hate to drop it as parts of the swim are about 10 feet deep and with large smooth boulders at the bottom. But do take it!

Our trip combined the hot springs pools afterward, a short drive away. Perfect!

We booked a trip to do the Gorge and then Hot springs and we were not disappointed. When you arrive you get a lifevest on then you enter the water and swim through the cave until you come to a mighty powerful waterfall. The water is very cold at first but once you start swimming it soon warms up. When you get to the waterfall it is amazing but very powerful. I was helped up by someone and could not stay there very long because of the power so came back through the Gorge to the exit. It is something I never planned to do but I am so glad I did, it was an incredible experience. One thing I would say and this goes for my whole two weeks cruising the Caribbean, I wish I had invested in a waterproof camera because so many beautiful photo opportunities were missed.

Beautiful gorge with very cold clear waters. I was brought there by my guide Chadi Symes, we swam into the gorge until the end where you can see a beautiful waterfall. Incredible site, a definitely must- see and must swim in it.

We visited as part of a cruise excursion and I was very pleasantly surprised. The gorge was one of the most beautiful experiences I've had in the Caribbean and I was so proud of myself for braving the chilly water!! It was well worth it. I only wish that I had been there with less people around and it might have been nice to do with a tube.

Don’t let the frigid water keep you from experiencing Titou Gorge. It is absolutely gorgeous and where they filmed Pirates of the Caribbean 2. We booked a tour and our guide provided life jackets and went in with us all the way to the water fall. I jumped in from the edge rather than walking in. It was so much fun!
