Nice area with well kept ruins
Came here as part of tugboat beach and I was impressed. Well kept ruins with lots of history and good views. Lots of thorns in the area so careful with footwear. Previous mentions of break ins shouldn’t be an issue as security is posted at the parking lot now.

    A slice of history
The remnants of this 1703 Dutch military fort are in surprisingly good condition, and it's one of the few forts that has not been converted into a hotel or shopping centre. You can climb up stairs and a ladder to the top of the fort for great views. There are original cannons on site. It's not a place to spend a long time, and it would have been great if there had been some interpretive signs or information there, but it was interesting to see. It's free to walk around. There were only two other couples there at the time so it's not busy. Parking is right at the bottom of the fort, and there is security there so we weren't concerned about break ins or safety at all.

    Great free attraction
Nice free activity on Curacao and well kept. At the parking lot there is a security guard that will make sure all belongings in the car are safe. The fort is clean and facilities are well kept.

    Hidden gem
Lovely place to walk around, enter the Fortress and climb to the highest spot. Great lookout with some historic pieces. Some might dislike it but we really found it cool to see the oilrig that’s there up close

This is an old fort that is left for your exploration. Free parking. If you have the time, I think it’s worth a stop. Tug Boat beach is just adjacent as well.

There is a series of forts dotted across Curaçao and this one seems largely unmodified. It's an easy drive out to the fort and for anyone interested in history it's well worth the visit. While you're at the fort take the time to visit the quarantine lodge up the hill.
The site could certainly be improved if it housed a museum and interpretation centre but still a fantastic place.

Certainly not a must visit by any stretch…we stopped because it was on the way to Tugboat beach. Pros are that it is free, and it is open and easily accessible. I’ve heard of some break ins to rental cars parked in the area, but when we went, it was pretty quiet (even though we still parked back at the beach and walked in).

Our dive op took us here during a surface interval-- so glad they did. It was really cool. It would be a nice little stop if you had a car-- a very short hike up to the Fort...great for pictures. Nice little beach below if you wanted to hang out.

Exploring the ground of the fort was super fun! There are well maintained, safe staircases and paths were cleared of any roots or trees. Walking on some uneven pavement was necessary. I definitely recommend climbing to the top of the fort for a beautiful view of Caracas Bay and the Spanish Waters.

The fort is tiny, the area is poorly maintained and there is nothing to do here. It is a five-minute visit to take in the moderate views before leaving again.
