    Worth the rough voyage
100000000% made my entire trip to Curacao. Crystal clear water, excellent temperature perfect for snorkeling. Keep in mind, the seas to get there are a little rough, so be sure to take Dramamine if you get seasick, and it’ll ruin your entire day, go ahead and skip just know you’ll be missing out on an incredible experience.

    Island Fun
Awesome trip, the staff was incredible. The captain kept everyone entertained. The crew was very attentive to and from the island. I was skeptical when they said the captain would be bbq the food on the book while the people where on the island, but the food was amazing. Everyone on the boat enjoyed themselves.

    Crystal Blue Waters
The beach was soft white, the water crystal clear. We saw fish, stingray, and some corals. The day we went was 30 degrees and no clouds in the sky. When they say use sunscreen, they mean it. My back got very burnt as I was snorkeling for 3 hours straight with my back exposed. Other than that, it was the perfect day. We went with Blue Fin Tis Tours and they were the best. The bbq was delicious and came with an open bar.

Klein Curacao is well worth the visit. Its own little inhabited island with crystal blue sea and sandy beaches. As others noted, the journey out was very rough but the journey back was fairly calm. Lots of great snorkeling before the crowds arrive.

With children in mind we opted on one of the boats rather than the Catamarans or small boats. Unfortunately our hand was forced as the Mermaid was booked so we end up on the Miss Anne. Wanted to give a summary of my thoughts that would've prove useful when we were booking

Mermaid
- Appears to be the oldest and biggest
- There is a discount in the Curacao Guide
- They have the centre of the beach, with white sands and easy see access
- Lots to see near the drop off and boats- bigger fish, some stingrays (and apparently turtles)
- Biggest private area on the beach
- Leaves Jan Thiel
- Probably a bit busier (but this is relative)

Miss Anne
- Slightly smaller boat
- Leaves from Sandal resort (other side of the bay + 20mins)
- Private Area on the far right of the beach (as you face the sea)
- Lots more coral and snorkelling opps
- Access point near the pier for easier access, otherwise coral shote
- Much quieter (pretty much just the Miss Anne Group
- We saw turtles, lionfish and eels
- They do a snorkel safari down the beach to see the bigger fish

Summary
- We can only offer true opinion on Miss Anne and it was great.
- If you are in Jan Thiel go Mermaid
- If you want sandy beach then go Mermaid
- If you want snorkelling and a bit more privacy the Miss Anne.

I went with Mermaid. Trip was 1:30 each way and with people vomiting due to seasickness - one right next to me. It seems ocean is usually bad on the way to the island, however, this information was only made available after we were boarded and about to leave the marina. Breakfast was bread with butter, ham & cheese. Lunch was good as there was a buffet, although it could be better organized. Not enough sun umbrellas so don’t wait for the small boat to take you to the island as it can be too late to find a spot - just jump on the ocean. Crew was friendly. It was a good experience, but I wouldn’t do it again - too tiring and does not offer much. You will be better off exploring beaches in the main island that are as beautiful as Klein Curaçao.

Klein Curacao is a windswept island covered in bird crap that is a former slave port. My husband and I are shocked that it has so many good reviews. Have the reviewers never snorkeled before? We’ve snorkeled at Porto Marie, Cas Abou, Daibooi, Kalki, Lagun, Klein Knip, Grote Knip and this is by far the worst and least interesting snorkeling in Curacao. Also, there is no shade, there is litter everywhere and it is expensive and unpleasant to get to. We do not understand how anyone who has ever snorkeled would like this. We felt that we lost a full day of our vacation and a lot of money.

While it was fun riding on a catamaran for two hours to visit less than a mile in length uninhabited island for approximately 2 hours of swimming and walking around the shore and a delish lunch on the boat. The waves were a bit rough and the island was windy. The beaches in north Curacao will serve you well with stunning swims in crystal clear water.
