Drove past this as part of a car tour and it caught my eye so I made the effort to return. A simple but gorgeous building.

Located down by the harbour, the Iglesia de San Francisco de Paula is a remnant of a larger church dating from 1663 now used mainly for baroque and renaissance music concerts. Architecturally quite simple, the stone interior, with a vaulted nave and dome, contains good...More

Small church with a pretty stained class window inside. Not really worth a separate trip to visit, but as it is right next to the souvenir market (Feria de Artesania Almacenes de San Jose), it is worth taking a look inside if you are in...More

Wonderful church - full of rich history. Historic architecture, fabricated from coral stone. Ornate, humbling, peaceful place to give thanks.

the 18th century church is ideally located south of old Havana, a colonial promenade will take you to its very steps... Enjoy a Camerata Romeu concert at this venue, a memory that will dwell in you forever...

We stumbled on this church by accident while looking for the Russian Orthodox church. It is in the middle of a busy road. The outside is rather unassuming and the inside is quite modern. Above the altar there is a 3 part stained glass window...More

We stopped by the church last week after spending some time at the Mercado. The architecture is as unique as its charm and I love that it looked really old. It is a little further outside the city, but well worth stopping by.

This Architectonic Monument seems insignificant and small. Actually, many years ago it was largest and imposing. In 1664, a hospital (only for women), and a hermitage were erected in the place, but destroyed by a hurricane in 1739 they were reconstructed again with richest details...More
