Go here for sure. Lots of history and beautiful views. No information signs but look at wiki and it will tell you about it. Medium challenge hike up a steep hill. At the time there was a rope mid way for the most challenging part. Do the place a favour and take litter back with you. I picked up other people’s on the way back and deposited in my resort. Guessing fellow tourists. Bring a bottle of water and take your time. About 45 mins round trip. Short walk from the Royalton or if not staying there there’s a dirt road leading to it from the south east.

This hike is an easy trek. You can add on a bit of excitement by going over the hill on which the Fort stands and cross over the shallow water and onto another small island. The views of St. John's Harbour and the morning sunrise are magnificent from Fort Barrington.

Steep but short trek up to the fort. Would definitely recommend trainers / hiking shoes for the climb up, and to avoid if it’s particularly windy or raining. There is a rope set up (as pictured) to help you on your way up. Once you get up there, the 360 degree views are well worth the climb. The fort itself has pretty much been abandoned, and there is no info provided once you get up there, so if you’re interested in the history, do your own research beforehand or afterwards. You can find the basic information online.

I would say this a must do for anyone visiting Antigua. The views from the top were beautiful. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the top. It's not far but you have to be careful as it's easy to lose your footing. At the beginning you have to hold onto a rope to haul yourself up. There are no proper paths either. Not recommended for anyone pregnant, with young children or the elderly.
