The cathedral is located in a very busy area. Roads are narrow so expect moderate flow of traffic. There is ample parking within the church premises.
The church has undergone several restorations. However, upon entry, you will be impressed by the painted ceiling and dome. The dome is stunning. You will also see a grand baroque designed organ reportedly to be the only one in Batangas and one of the 59 units in the country.
For those who love history, interested in old churches, going on a visita iglesia or simply wanting to know more about our heritage, this place is a great place to visit.

Beautifully painted ceiling. Entering this church reminded me of my History of Architecture subject in school. We got to visit before the huge traffic of Pilgrims comes in. Best days to visit would be weeks before or after the Holy Week.
It is located within the town proper, so kids can have lunch at a fast-food chain nearby.

I visited this Cathedral together with my papa and mama + mommy and daddy at the start of 2017. We felt so blessed because when we arrived the mass was about to start and lucky for us we got to attend the mass.It was very crowded bit the paintings and the carbings on the door entrance is incredibly amazing....so I guess if you're planning to have your quiet time here, go on a weekday with your family and friends. 💕

Try to drop by at this imposing place of worship at early hours of the day... so you can focus on reflecting inside than keeping yourself safe from possible pickpockets with the expected large crowds. See its magnificence outside to appreciate its immense beauty. Then take time to pray.

This is just one of the historical churches that defines Lipa as a religious city. The Lipa San Sebastian Cathedral had been chosen as one of the churches of have a DOOR OR MERCY which is located on the rear left side of the church. to The murals had already been retouched several times and the recent retouching has accentuated the animation of the religious figures adorning the church. This church as a mortuary and an ossuary situated on the left side when your facing the altar. Several issues encountered are mostly from vagrants harassing church goers for several pesos and loss of personal belongings while inside the church.

After visiting a resort attraction in Lipa City, we decided to stop by this Cathedral on our way home. As other TA reviewers had commented, this Cathedral is big and its steeple can be seen from the distance. Not knowing our way around, we kept looking for the directions of the steeple until we finally found it.
Sign explaining its brief history is posted outside, on the right hand side of the entrance door. As we entered the Cathedral, we noted several statues depicting the scenes at the Calvary and Last Supper, statues of St. Lorenzo (Filipino priest who became a saint) and that of St. John Paul.
Inside the Cathedral are things of beauty - painted ceilings and dome, altar made of silver metals, paintings of apostles, statue of Virgin Mary, etc. They reminded me of some of the churches I visited in Mexico and Peru.
We said our prayers then took pictures of the Cathedral - both inside and outside before leaving. See attached pictures.
