A great way to learn of the local history. The displays are well presented and well labeled with their history making it easy to enjoy. Well worth a visit.

We were driving through the Catlin's. Visited Curio, Cannibal and Porpoise Bay's. All breathtakingly beautiful and a must if you are driving around New Zealand. We stopped at this information center to get something to drink and eat but it wasn't' open and no one...More

Just a quick trip in. If you like the history of the wrecks around the cost this is a great place to visit. $5 per entry.

Didn't do the museum, but the info centre staff were very helpful with local inormation. Could have offered more advice though which we picked up from locals

Interesting little museum. Worth the $5. Have a wander - Really interesting stories about the shipwrecks along the coast.

This is a must when visiting the Catlins. It has heaps of information and a lot of maps and brochures to take away. The museum is also very interesting and worth the modest entry.

The museum gives you a very good overview of the history of the Catlins area, especially as regards the timber industry, railways and the sea. Well worth a visit.
