Lots of wildlife near dusk
Jul 2021
The path is being renovated and it is not perfectly groomed as of Aug 2021 because of rain damage however, it is well worth checking out. It is a shorter but sporty trail with some little challenges. It makes you feel that you are surrounded by nature. It starts by paralleling a river where many of the wildlife congregate in the evening.

Great Hike! No shuttle Required! Very scenic!
Jun 2021
We decided to forego the long shuttle wait and start our day hiking The WatchMan Trail, which you can get right on from the visitor center. Gorgeous view when you reach the top, worth the hike! It took my family about 2 hours to hike this 3.3 mile trail. We saw deer on our hike. It was rocky and sandy but an easy path to follow.

Fun hike!
Jun 2021
This was my second time four years later doing the watchman hike. It doesn’t take long about 2.5-3 hours. I will say the first time I did it we did it in the morning, and this time we started at 3pm in the afternoon. It was much harder in the heat and midday. This is a totally exposed hike with very little shade, so be careful your time of day with the heat.

Great Hike starts behind Visitor Center
May 2021 • Couples
A great trail to leave from the visitor center (no shuttle pass required!). This was our first hike at Zion - took about 2 1/2 hours taking our time and plenty of pictures. Loved it! It was sunny starting out, but after canyon switchbacks we had more shade. Helped us acclimate to elevation change and hiking coming from FL

Good hike; no shuttle required
May 2021
The hike moves steadily uphill, without many scary overlooks. There are impressive views at the top. This is a hike you can take without using the park's frustrating shuttle system. Park at the visitor's center (come early!) and follow the signs to the trail.

Beautiful views and varied terrain
Apr 2021
This trail had a lot of different terrain and views all along. It was absolutely beautiful. At the top there is another 1/2 mile loop you can hike that is really different and fun.

A CHALLENGE
Apr 2021
This trail starts off rather easy but progresses to be a bit hard. It is a real nice trail though and worth the climb!

good short hike
Apr 2021
This hike is not as pretty as some of the others but the views are still amazing. It is not a difficult hike and a great hike if you don't have as much time.

My favorite hike in Zion
Apr 2021 • Solo
Loved this trail! It is strictly uphill on the way, downhill coming back. It will give you a good workout. There are terrific views all around at the end. There's a loop trail at the end that you can take if you choose, which will take about 10-15 minutes. There was a good amount of people on the trail when I went in the early afternoon, but not too many.

A good option if you don't have shuttle tickets to the upper canyon
Apr 2021
This is a great, well-maintained, fairly short, easily accessible trail. The trailhead is located just off of the Visitor Center parking lot - making it one of the few canyon trails accessible without the need to use a shuttle. We hiked it the first afternoon we arrived in Zion NP. The trail itself is mostly out and back - uphill to a short loop at the top and then back downhill. Because of its location, it gets heavy use. You will probably have plenty of company, depending on when you hike.
