Short loop road offers many different picnic spots with good parking. Open pit toilet, but otherwise a well equipped picnic area. Very peaceful.

On weekends it's a bit crowded but other than that it's a nice park and worth the entry fee to skyline drive.

Stopped here for a break in the day. Nice center and gift shop. Unique gifts in about every shop in the park! Nice friendly staff. Clean restrooms. Picnic area, mowed and room for parking your vehicle. Little trails off this area.

Elkwallow has a nice gift shop and food for the passing hiker. Small hikes at the rest stop was nice, and even saw a bear.

We parked at this area and did a 6.5-mile loop composed of Jeremy's Run, Knob Mountain Cutoff to Knob Mountain, then back on Elkwallow. We saw several bears!
