For the motorcyclists, this is a great ride. The road surface is good, plenty of tight corners & hairpins, along with amazing scenery. Having a Go Pro or similar is an advantage. Allow good time to take in the stops and viewpoints.

We came into Sequoia NP through the Big Stump Entrance and over the next couple days, had eventually driven the General's Highway all the way out to the Foothills Entrance to the South. It's a pretty amazing road. It was slow going, not only because...More

You will spend A LOT of time on this road if visiting Sequoia. Things are spread out so lots of driving. There is a shuttle bus in summer which is popular and gets you to all the main sights.

The Generals Highway is a good drive, and it can take some time to get between areas such as Grant Grove in the north and the Congress Trail, further south, for example. It's in no way challenging at all. There are panoramic vistas and Giant...More

Generals highway is somewhat narrow road. However, you do not want to fast up since the scenary is very beutiful. There are some constructions too. Expect some delay.

The drive can be nice and peaceful if you can do it in the morning before the crowds start to appear. It was nice to go at our own pace and enjoy the views and especially Quiet.

Being among the giant sequoias is a special experience for anyone who loves nature. This place, especially the area of the General Sherman tree, has to be visited to understand. There just aren't words and pictures simply don't do it justice.

The summer crowds at Yosemite made our experience less enjoyable. Which was why our family was so happy we also included Sequoia & Kong’s Canyon. Getting to the park early helped too. But the beauty of he big trees, open and green meadows made this...More

This highway is well maintained and the signage is excellent. The park shuttle service moves large numbers of people who would normally be driving this highway creating lots of traffic.

If views are what you are going for, this one is fantastic and I don't regret the ride. However, be prepared for somewhat narrow lanes compared to other major national park roads, construction delays and steep drop-offs on the sides of the road with no...More
